|A Large Pile Of Vinyl|
Ever since my record player has been up and running, the usual pile
of CD's messily shuffled about my desk has been replaced by a much
larger and much more inconvenient pile of records that are finally
being put to proper use. Here's the best of the pile (what I've been
spinning for the past week).
I bought this in Montreal. It felt super legit.
In The Court Of The Crimson King
Bought in Amsterdam at a fantastic little record shop. The signage out front
was this album cover.
Younger Us [single]
b-side: cover of Sex And Dying in High Society. Limited edition clear vinyl. It
came with an airhead too. It was delicious. Younger Us might be my
favourite Japandroids song.
"Remember that night you were already in bed said 'fuck it' got up to drink
with me instead?" Do I ever. Do I ever.

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
A vinyl essential
This record gives me goosebumps errrrrrywhere.
Don't Leave Me Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh, Don't Leave Me
|8|| ||John Lennon|
Limited edition release for Record Store Day 2010. Three 7" Lennon singles
with Yoko Ono b-sides (barf, for the most part).
Crack The Skye
Red and Gold swirled vinyl. I bought during their tour with Dethklok last year.
Viva La Vida
Coldplay rules. Fact.

ideas from a newspaper stand

I still owe money, to the money, to the money I owe. I never thought
about love, when I thought about home.
Me and all my friends, we're all misunderstood. They say we stand for
nothing and there's no way we ever could.
Somewhere At The Bottom Of The River...
I bought this at their show (opening for AOF). Record 1 is beautiful white
vinyl and record 2 has a wicked etching on the b-side. This is easily my
most listened to record of the past couple of weeks.
I bought this EP at their show last year in Galway, Ireland.
When I counted up my demons, saw there was one for every day. I kept
the good one's in my pocket, and lead the other one's away.
(I think I have that lyric wrong but that's how it sounds in my head).
Hymn To The Immortal Wind
An epic winter album. The warmth of the crackly vinyl makes it ever more
wintery. If only I could come up with a way to listen to records portably so
that I could walk though the snow with this spinning and crackling away...
