| Napalm Death & Other Giants Live!
I went to a magnificent death metal show last night. Just look at that
line up! Wrote some comments for each, just to describe how I felt
about the concert. | | 1 | Dawn Of Demise
Not a bad concert, but I find them rather boring. It's like slam death metal
played by an old school death metal band. Sounds about as boring as you'd
expect it to. However, the vocals, mixing and musicianship were all okay, so
a 2/5 | | 2 | Macabre
YES! I love Macabre. Their quirky style of deathgrind is just so fun, and their
lyrics are fantastic. However, the concert wasn't really up to snuff. There
seemed to be some troubles with their setlist, so about 5 minutes were lost
to pointless noodling when the band didn't know what to play. I liked that
they introduced each song with an intro, just to get us in the mood. Oh,
and they played The Trial and Scrub A Dub Dub. YES! 3/5 | | 3 | Immolation
I could never get into their albums, but their concert was HUGE. They made
the entire place mosh (something not even Napalm Death could accomplish)
and were great fun to watch. They had tons of energy with them. Might be
listening to their albums more closely after this. I was impressed. 4.5/5 | | 4 | Pestilence
Not bad, not bad at all! Except for the fact that the lead singer/guitarist
looks like an absolute twat. Sound was good, set was decently long, but
there were too many new songs, and they didn't play anything off of
Testinmony. 3.5/5 | | 5 | Napalm Death
The reason I travelled all this way, and they did not dissapoint. Their set
was unusually long (almost an hour and 20 minutes) and they held up their
energy the entire way through. The venue was filled at this point and was
set in motion almost entirely, though not as violently as at Immolation's set.
They played a ton of different stuff, and one of my personal favourite
Napalm Death songs, If The Truth Be Known. All in all, fantastic concert, and
well worth the time spent traveling. | |

11.06.10 | I missed out on 3 bands, though! Vira (danish death metal/djent band) who are totally awesome, Crocell (danish oldschool death) who are decent and Waking The Cadaver (...). I kinda wish that I had seen Waking The Cadaver, though, 'cuz Immolation couldn't stop raving about their concert, and I heard they're great fun live even though they suck elephant livers. | Oceans

11.06.10 | @Kanga - They'll come 'round after their next album :P Barney said they'd go on yet another tour then.

11.06.10 | It came apruptly out of nowhere while Barney was doing a speech. Then afterwards, he shouted something along the lines of "Ah ha! Dramatic pause there eh?" in that thick Birmingham accent | FadeToBlack
11.06.10 | might be going to this concert
except pestilence and dawn of demise arent playing, and waking the cadaver are instead lol |
