Frances the Mute
This album contains the legendary Cassandra Gemini. This reminds me of 9th grade when I used to listen to the Widow all the time and all my friends thought TMV sucked. Cygnus.. Vismund Cygnus is the highlight song for me. | | 2 |  | The Mars Volta
De-Loused in the Comatorium
This is back when there were only 5 dudes in the band. This one has one of the most epic album openings of all time. NOW I'M LOOOOOOSTT. Amputechture
People give this album a lot of shit. I can see why because Vicarious Atonement, although a beautiful song, is a little too long for an opening track. Tetragrammaton kicks ass. The single, Vermicide, has a pretty good chorus but doesn't do much more. Viscera Eyes and the Day of the Baphomets will always be my two favorite Mars Volta songs. The Bedlam in Goliath
While this contains a handful of great tracks, like Metatron, and Goliath, I always get bored after Ouroborous and put on Frances the Mute. The drumming is awesome in this album, but I miss when the Mars Volta was a little more dark. This is a lot more in your face. Not to say it doesn't kick ass.. I just feel like the band has ceased to give off the mysterious vibe they gave from the start.. The jam at the end of Aberinkula rules. | | 5 |  | The Mars Volta
