10.04.10 | Shitty genre's of course, like crunkcore, etc, stuff that's not even attempting to be musical.
But the one genre of music, well i guess it's a pretty large range, i can't listen to no matter what i try is indie/hipster music. You know, like the singer/songwriter i can play a G chord and write about life and happiness and girls and be metaphorical and hip.
Can't stand that shit, it's 100% sonically unappealing.
And all country except Johnny Cash. |

10.04.10 | It's all good man. I can't listen to any screamo, post hardcore, death metal, or country. |

10.04.10 | These aren't even arguably metal.
Metal has so many different subgenres and so much diversity, it's hard to think someone won't eventually find something they like. |

10.04.10 | ^ agreed. i would never go so far as saying "i like metal" because that's like 95% untrue, but there are plenty of metal bands that i enjoy. |

Wikipedia and Windows says they are, so I'll take their opinion for nothing and just say arguably. :P
I don't know, I just can't stand the metal image. Like the group of headbanging guys with long hair, beards, and black t-shirts. And I hate double bass for some reason. |
Hyperion1001

I know exactly what you are talking about, its not rap, its like that soul, r&b, lounge music stuff (i have no idea how to describe it, you obviously know). I hate that stuff so much, it literally makes me cringe. |

I'm starting to realize that not all metal is terrible. But the filters metalheads place on "what is good" is a lot more slack then the ones imposed by hipsters. Also WTF is will metal album art. How does a dragon eating a baby in space have to do with your album at all. They all look like arcade machines from the 1980's |

I love metal album art. It's way more visually appealing that a picture of a fucking park bench with a lonely kid or something equally as hip. |

10.05.10 | It's tongue-in-cheek, it's there for the sole purpose of looking interesting. If you don't enjoy it you don't enjoy it. Like i said, i can't stand the whole hipster/indie lets make an ironic picture of kids next to a see-saw bullshit, it's just not my thing. And a lot of people share my viewpoint, as well as oppose it.
To each his own, everyone will like something different. The only thing that makes me angry is when it's asserted that some form of music is blatantly better than another form just because you don't enjoy it (not saying that's how you came across at all, just making a point). You know what i mean? |

10.05.10 | i agree with rabbit on metal album art. although onwards to golgotha by incantation is badass. thats also the only straight up death metal album i enjoy. |

10.05.10 | Think of an album like the devil and god are raging inside me. The album art is a near perfect visual representation of what the album is. That iron maiden one makes me think I am going to drop a couple quarters playing some over the top pinball game. |

10.05.10 | Can't do metal at all, any of it. Sounds like pretentious unnecessary noise to me. Post hardcore is aight, At The Drive-In and shit. Mainstream country needs to crawl in a hole and die. |

Yeah, think like Loveless, ...In Shallow Seas We Sail, American Football, Kid A, OK Computer, so on are perfect reprentations. |

10.05.10 | Also that Sodom cover being the greatest thing anyone has ever seen is a testament to the immaturity that annoys me about metal. It's like "BLOOD AND GUTS AND WAR AND PAIN ARE RIIIIIIIISING" and I'm like whatever. |
Hyperion1001
10.05.10 | Most people who enjoy metal realize that it's all tongue-in-cheek and not meant to be taken all that seriously. I mean, there are the metalheads who think that Iron Maiden is the perfect band and won't listen to anything but metal because it's so anti-conformist, but then again there are hipster fags who wear glasses with no lenses and swear Mac computers are the best things ever.
There are retards who like every form of music, you just have to ignore them. But don't sterotype everyone into a certian image just because of bias. |
Hyperion1001
10.05.10 | Well, not all of it is tongue-in-cheek, im just talking about the Sodom things you were describing, albums that are clearly just meant to be enjoyed. Metal album art is usually pretty good about indicating what kind of album you're buying. |
