I Am A Caribbean Guy!

And thus, being from the Caribbean, this list pays homage to artists that either are from the Caribbean, or sound like they deserve to be (mainly because they input reggae aspects in their music). One artist per genre. Site needs a bit more flair!
1Bob Marley

Reggae: The undisputed king of reggae. Obviously. No need to say more.
2Rihanna

R&B: Well she's from Barbados so I guess she fits in here. Pity her music
doesn't sound Caribbean anymore like her first album did. Mehhh
3Machel Montano

Soca: If you don't know what Soca is, you're forgiven, and don't go find out,
because it's too simple for the pretentious minds here... it's fun though.
He's extremely popular at Carnival time everywhere in the region. Hails
from Trinidad and Tobago.
4Major Lazer

Dancehall: Not from the region but Diplo and Switch's music takes the best
parts out of dancehall and make it at least tolerable... I suppose.
5Skindred

Reggae Metal(?): Not from region but better than anything that the local
metal bands put out, they're still stuck in thrash metal 80's days. Benji
Webbe has a real Jamaican voice that is superb.
6Sean Paul

Club(?): You probably forgot about this guy. He's still awesome though,
makes banging tunes (music that you don't have to think about, just jump
up to) nuff said. Another Jaimacan...
7The Mighty Sparrow

Calypso: Easily the most well known calypsonian ever, praised in the region
and in some parts of the world.
8Daddy Yankee

Reggaeton: Puerto Rico counts as Caribbean so he's here. Don't care about
him really, but he's cool for the clubs.
9Ricky Martin

Latin: Everyone knows Enrique here personally so it's time for the spotlight
to shine on Ricky for once. Plus he's actually from the region and not from
Mexico, so he's legit. Sorry Enrique (though he never reads my lists
anyway)
10311

Rock: Not from region, but that song they made, Amber, gets me every
time, so they have the final place.
