08.11.10 | Thanks in advance! | Prolapse
08.11.10 | Emmm they're probably zipped
http://www.7-zip.org/
download that, then right click on the folder, click 7zip and then extract here :) | FadeToBlack
08.11.10 | did you download a .rar file? | vmcoia91
08.11.10 | @ FadeToBlack I believe it was a .rar file, but I cannot be sure. | East Hastings
08.11.10 | if youre on a mac and you need to open RAR files, download UnRarX its free forever, and your archive utility will open zip files automatically then just find the folder of the album and drag into the itunes window | FadeToBlack
08.11.10 | 7-Zip is good but theres a better and much simpler program
http://www.extractnow.com/
its only 1 MB size, and all you have to do is drag the rar file into it, and then press extract and its done. very easy to use | Masochist
08.11.10 | Whenever you download something off of Mediafire or Rapidshare or anything, it'll almost always come in either a .zip or a .rar package (think of it like putting a lot of things in a lunchbox). Usually, a program like WinRAR, 7-Zip or IZArc can unpack them, but sometimes you can just right-click and choose "Extract To...," and it'll do it for you.
Choose a place where you want the songs to go (Say, C:/[Your Name]/My Music/[Name of album/artist] or something) and extract them, then get iTunes to find that folder, and then you should be all good. | vmcoia91
08.11.10 | Yes I am on a mac. Thank you for the help Prolapse and East Hastings. | East Hastings
08.11.10 | yeah sure, just go to your downloads tab, then double-click on the album...if you have unrarx and it's a rar file, it'll automatically take everything out and then put it into a folder for you and if its a zip, your utilities will do the same thing
the only thing is that occasionally unrarx can't extract a song or two because theres a problem with the extraction, but it doesnt happen that often

08.11.10 | Yeah, if they're zipped or rar'd you need an extractor. They're usually offered on a free 'trial' system, but with most you never actually have to buy anything. I use WINrar which you can download at this site. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm | PigDestroyer89
