Good, but generic.
Agree with 1, but list needs Adrian Erlandsson.
lopez was indeed a great. meh at most of the others though.
i'd include buddy rich, john bonham, phil selway, gene hoglan, ben koller etc
List is to short to discuss...Gene Hoglan? Pete Sandoval?Tomas Haake? Andols Herrick?
tomas haake sucks
Tomas Haake is great.
George Kollias is fast as hell but that's about it
Dailor's good but just because he plays more fills than beats doesn't make him awesome by any stretch
oops didn't see the "metal" part
definitely to short to really comment... though i would agree with at least 3 of these.
Anyone else here that Mike Portnoy is now drumming for A7X?
Kind of a waste of talent if you ask me but given the rev just died in december and Mike was his favorite drummer, i'll go ahead and give it the ok (not like my opinion matters or would change anything)
Between the Buried and Me Drummer???
Protest the Hero Drummer???
Dimmu Borger drummer??? (serpentine offering)
since we're kinda on topic with dream theater, prog shit.
However, in metal it really is difficult to compare one drummer to the next unless we're talkin a really shitty one put up against a really good one.
Gene Hoglan and Pete Sandoval
Tomas Haake is the Meshuggah drummer...see above
I love Jon Karel of The Sawtooth Grin (formerly of The Number Twelve Looks Like You).
dailor and portnoy are two of my favorites too
needs Sean Reinert.
Portnoy is garbage. That's right. Just because he can hit his 800 drums really fast with nothing but singles and do hand/foot trades doesn't make him a good drummer. Martin Lopez for the win.
Portnoy has even admitted he doesn't really know what he's doing and just hits shit really fast.
brian harvey (pig destroyer) one of my favs. he's pretty underrated
George Kollias is terrible. He doesn't ever know when to play down.
