03.24.10 | Deadwing is my favorite followed by In Absentia. |

03.24.10 | #1, in my opinion. But at the same time, you should also get 'Fear of a Blank Planet' if you haven't gotten it already. Those two albums should be enough to figure out whether you want to keep going with the band (though admittedly, 'Fear...' is a somewhat difficult album to get into).
My progression of how I got into them went like this:
'FOABP'
'In Absentia'
'The Incident'
'Stupid Dream'
'Deadwing'
...and out of curiosity, which songs have you heard by them? |

03.24.10 | go in this order

03.25.10 | Start with Fear of a blank planet :D |
EVedder27
03.25.10 | depends on what you are into.
If you want more psychedelic stuff, go with 2 or 3
If you want heavier stuff, go with 4 or Fear of a Blank Planet
If you want a combo of both, go with 1. That's where I started. |

03.26.10 | yea it took me a while too but recently ive been playing the shit outta #1... so good |
Yazz_Flute
03.26.10 | Start with 1 or 4, as they are the easiest to get into. 3 is my personal favorite but it took over a year before I really began to like it. 2 is kinda average if you ask me.
The Sky Moves Sideway is where it's at if you'd rather hear a more Floydian sounding arrangement. |
Jim

03.28.10 | Out of the ones listed, In Absentia is the best place to start. The Incident is really what got me from liking them to loving them. |
Shredzilla
04.06.10 | I loved FOABP. Never really got into Deadwing, but, regardless, it's still a pretty damn good album. I still need to pick up In Absentia. |
Rhino
04.28.10 | Like EVedder27 said, it depends what you are into. If you are mostly a metal guy, Deadwing would suit you best, then maybe In Absentia and FoaBP. If you like the more poppy, psychedelic stuff, you might go with Lightbulb Sun/Stupid Dream or The Incident first. My personal favourite is Deadwing, then In Absentia, FoaBP, and there are some great songs on their older releases. Their DVD Arriving Somewhere is also fantastic. |
Nagrarok
04.28.10 | Definitely 1 or Fear of a Blank Planet. If you're more into pyschedelic, 2, 3 or The Sky Moves Sideways are all good places to start. |
qwe3
04.28.10 | their best is The Sky Moves Sideways |
