Carnifex 02.20.10	I honestly can't find any of my old black metal comments, must've been deleted, but I know I compared 90s black metal production to "winds flowing through the forests of Norway" on a Burzum review and I said something about Abigail Williams and recent-Immortal as being the only black metal worth even bothering with on either an Abigail Williams or Gorgoroth review.

Hawks 02.20.10	No problem dude. Definitely start with Bergtatt though because everyone here pretty much agrees that it's a classic plus it's a great album to help you get into black metal.

TheSpirit 02.20.10	metal archives sucks. It's good for getting information, since virtually every black metal band is included on there, but it sucks in the sense that even the really really shitty bands (like crappy one man black metal bands from peoples bedrooms) are on the site too.

TheSpirit 02.20.10	Bergtatt is a classic but i wouldn't say its a quintessential album that would get you into straight up BM. Transilvanian Hunger would probably be better for that.

Carnifex 02.20.10	I love In Flames JWT, old and new. Colony is my favorite of the older and A Sense of Purpose from the new. I've heard Transilvanian Hunger, and it didn't really get me interested too much. Something about it didn't strike well with me. I'll probably revisit it though since I'm revisiting black metal in general.
