|Songs That Make Me Feel Canadian|
These songs make me feel like playing hockey, go to Tim Horton's, build an igloo, ride a polar bear, and eat poutine.
6-10 to come later...
It's probably due to the movie "One Week", but this song makes me feel like hopping in a car with some buddies and traveling all across this great land of ours.
|2||The Tragically Hip|
Fifty Mission Cap
What true Canadian doesn't love the Hip? And who doesn't love hearing about the Leafs not winning the cup in over 40 years?
Another quintessential Canadian traveling tune.
Tournament of Hearts
Arguably, curling is the true Canadian sport, not hockey. With curling terms that every good Canadian should know such as "bonspiel" and "corner guard", this song certainly makes me feel patriotic (and contemplative. Seriously, John K. Samson is a lyrical genius. If you don't listen to the Weakerthans, check them out).
Un Canadien Errant
The Melissa McClelland version is my favourite cover of this famous Canadian folk song. Few other songs fill me with as much love for my home country...
"Non, mais en expirant,
o mon cher Canada!
Mon regard languissant
Vers toi se portera..."
