Seems to be some debate on what the best Christian extreme metal bands are. Thought I'd weigh in on the whole thing...
Black/Death Metal. Simply one of (if not) the best of the genre. Album to check out, "Undeceived"
Brutal Death Metal. Just some straight up Death, no "atmosphere" included. And damn, this guy can GROWL... Album to check out, "Cold Black Piece of Flesh)
Same as above, much more in your face however. Album to check out, "And My Eye Shall Weep"
Technical Death Metal, all of the band is at it's best. Album to check out, "Anagogic Tyranny"
|5||Frost Like Ashes|
Black Metal with definite Thrash and Death influences. Amazing drums and vocals. Album to check out, "Tophet"
A Thrash/Death/Core Metal, this band has constantly changed, yet still put out amazing albums. Album to check out, "Reborn"
A classic and defining Death Metal band. Album to check out, "Scrolls of the Megollith"
Another Black Metal band with Death influences. VERY good. Album to check out, "In Depths of Dreams Unconscious"
|9||Becoming the Archetype|
Progressive Death Metal. "The Physics of Fire" is amazingly technical, not a note out of place. Album to check out, "Terminate Damnation"
Another very technical Death Metal band (the guitarist played on "The Physics of Fire", mentioned above). Album to check out, "Dying Vine"
If you're just going to post a "Christian Metal = lolz" type statement, please keep it to yourself and check these bands out instead.
CHRISTIANITY TO THE EXTREME
i'm sorry i don't buy into your tribal superstitions
But...all we do is sacrifice a few unbelievers every now and again. Is that SO wrong???
if you hear god's voice in your head then perhaps you should be in a padded cell with the rest of the people who hear voices
haha where is this from
I like a few of these bands, Extol, Living Sacrifice, Frost Like Ashes, and Crimson Moonlight. Check out Renascent and Antestor. Hellhammer plays drums on at least one of Antestors records, which is ironic because Hellhammer hates black people, key word being hate.
Also, some shitty christian folk metal band tried friending me. Oh, the irony of a christian band taking somethign away from the pagans.
agreed chan always said this but no1 agrees
Balls at least knows where it's at. I've been meaning to check those out, thanks.
chan, well, I'm not gonna turn this into a debate. This list is for the aforementioned people who automatically assume that a band sucks because of their religion. Who gives a damn what's being preached? Every type of music is preaching something; I see so many people listen to RATM and SOAD, but won't touch Christian music because "It's too preachy".
well they are talking about real things such as the government
Yeah, I'm not even going to get in to that. Point being, well, that this is a list of technically and musically proficient artists...that happen to be of a certain religion (as everyone is).
Is dying vine really that special to even have Cynic make the list of their influences?
Yeah, it's pretty good.
