Favorite Albums Of All Time
So I made one of these a few months back, but a
lot has changed
since then. So here it goes again, and I decided
to limit it to one
album per band this time around.
Feel free to post yours and recommend me new
Enough has been said about this album. Pure brilliance. Kid A is a close
second to this, but since I am limiting this to one per band, it doesn't make
|2||The Mars Volta|
De-Loused In The Comatorium
This was a verrrry tough decision between Frances and De-Loused. I am a
big spokesperson for FTM, but at the moment I've been liking this one a
little more by the slightest little bit.
Pure prog brilliance, as is Frances.
One of the most interesting albums you will ever listen to. Perfect from start
to finish. Aaron Wiess is one of the best front-men of all time.
A pretty sputnik chois I know... but man, I love me some Opeth. I have only
heard this, Ghost Reveries, and Watershed, and while it's close, I think this
is probably the best of the three.
|5||Between the Buried and Me|
I'm not going into much detail on this one. A genius album. The Great
Misdirect is amazing as well, but this one comes out on top.
Black Holes and Revelations
While many would disagree, I think this is Muse's best album, and it pretty
much got me into Alt Rock.... Yeah I was late to the party.
|7||Protest the Hero|
Another Sputnik choice, but I'm proud to admit I knew about Protest before
I came to sputnik.
Close to the Edge
The perfect classic prog album.
|9|| ||Godspeed You! Black Emperor|
Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven
Post-Rock greatness. You probably hear about this album all of the time on
sputnik, but in all honesty it deserves every bit of attention it gets. The
best post-rock album of all time.
The perfect post-hardcore album.
Yes, I'm aware this is a very sputniky list. But the reason I come to this site, is because most of the people have the same taste in music as me.
But anyway... recs?
dude all time low SUCKS
Who the hell said anything about All Time Low?
9 is the best record of all time.
Check out Year Of No Light and Mono.
my bad man i thot this whole list waz about all time low.
i've had a few godspeed albums downloaded on my computer for months that i haven't touched yet. i need to get on that
1, 4, 9, and 10
This is a pretty good list.
Pretty good list here.
you need to check Blackwater Park, is my personal fav Opeth release, i just... perfect
I was hoping 2 would be in here when I saw the title.
I get cold chills just thinking of how much I love that album.
@theacademy: Maybe you should read the list before you comment?
@YouAreMySilence: Cool I'll check those out. I've listened to Mono a little bit, and they sound pretty great. Which album of theirs should I pick up? I'm assuming Hymn... is the one to get first?
:D I pressed the submit button to fast by mistake.
@IanDavila: I'm getting that along with all of their other albums for Christmas. I can't wait.
@Zizzer: Yeah, it is absolutely amazing.
Sorry dude, but 2, 5, 7, 8, 10 = a lot better than All Time Low
i just listened to lift your skinny fists. it was awesome
and ben, i would get hymn but thats just me
Alright, I'll probably end up getting Hymn in the next few months.
this is very similar to your previous list
except its better (more pth, yes; less radiohead; beatles)
It is fairly similar, but there is less Volta, less Radiohead, less Muse. And dammit I forgot the Beatles. White Album belongs on here somewhere.
This is list really good. We have really similar taste. Check out The Dear Hunter, Kiss Kiss, and Beardfish.
beatles = pretty much the same as all time low
Theacademy baffles me with his bullshit comments, anyway kickass list, I agree on a lot of it
