Things To Remember, Remember...

...all throughout November.
1Between the Buried and Me
The Great Misdirect

Never managed to pick this up last month, and still trying to find the deluxe edition on the relatively cheap.
2The Almost
Monster, Monster

On the fence with this one. Southern Weather was decent, but the vocals do tend to get old. Love the cover art, though.
3Julian Casablancas
Phrazes for the Young

I was a Stokes fan back in the day, and this year has been good for solo/side projects, so why not?
4 AC/DC
Backtracks

Guilty pleasure A: the fact that there are still some Bon Scott-era tracks that I don't have (at least, not in hideously bad illegal download format) makes this worth it, and everything else is just ice cream on the cake.
5 Anthrax
Among the Living (Deluxe Edition)

Great album, about time it got treatment like this. And I'm not at all biased due to the fact that my copy is scratched to hell.
6Dashboard Confessional
Alter the Ending

Guilty pleasure B: The Shade of Poison Trees was their (his?) best album in years, in my opinion. "Belle of the Boulevard" is iffy at best, though. We shall see.
7 Puscifer
C if for (Insert Sophomoric Genetalia Reference HERE)

While I can understand the cries against Maynard delaying the next Tool/APC releases for this, it seems pretty pointless to bitch about that now. And "Polar Bear," at the very least, is excellent.
8 Anberlin
Blueprints for City Friendships - The Anthology

I can also understand the cries of "cash grab" being thrown at this band. (Though really, the label's at fault.) Fortunately, I'm just getting into them and I don't own any of these albums, so I lucked out there. Not so fortunately, I just bought New Surrender a few weeks back, and now they're apparently rereleasing that, too. Damn labels.
9Them Crooked Vultures
Them Crooked Vultures

Opinion on this band has fluctuated so much that I've given up any and all attempts to form a coherent message from all the sides. I'll just make up my own mind. Spooky.
10Devin Townsend Project
Addicted

This man has yet to disappoint me. I still need to get my paws on Ziltoid the Omniscient, too. Fun (bookending) fact, by the way: I'm pretty sure I'm seeing this mastermind when he comes to town with Between the Buried and Me and Cynic in February. Should be amazing.
11 Watchmen
Ultimate Edition

About friggin' time. The theatrical cut was pretty hit-or-miss, and the director's even more so, since you got the idea that it was yet another meaningless compromise. But finally, after extorting a grand total of 800 bajillion dollars from its fans, the good folks at Warner Brothers have finally decided to release the film Zack Snyder wanted to make. Which still pales in comparison to Alan Moore's book, but that's a matter for another time. Also, Star Trek comes out this month, and proves that despite years of atrophy on Heroes, Zachary Quinto is still an amazing actor.
