Worst List Of The Day

Albums I used to like from bands I no longer listen to.
1Korn
Life is Peachy

Ahh yes. My first venture into heavier music. Its comical to think back to my days of headbanging naked to "twist" in my bedroom before school on a daily basis. I probably should have kept that to myself.
2Thrice
The Illusion of Safety

I went through a wierd phase where I tried to appease a particularly trendy friend by accomodating my supposed music taste to his post hardcore leanings. This was one of the few bands I actually enjoyed. Not so much now....They arent bad by any means just not my cup of tea.
3Coheed and Cambria
Second stage turbine blade

The level of suckage that this band achieved with their 4th studio album (no world for tomorrow) not only ruined any chance of interest in future releases but also tainted their entire back catalogue as well.
4System of a Down
Toxicity

Talk all the shit you want...I along with countless others owe alot to this band. This album along with the previously listed Korn was solely responsible for my transition away from pop radio. Even if its laughable now, I give credit where credit is due.
5N Sync
NSYNC

Literally the first compact disc I owned, at the tender and impressionable age of 11. Ive come a long way.
6Between the Buried and Me
Alaska

I think my fascination with this band stemmed from them being the first extreme music I had heard that also displayed impressive technical ability from each musician. But It was a band that required me to sit through noodling, uninspired bullshit as I waited for the part(s) of each song that clicked. At one point in time that was enough for me to consider it a great album. Now i see this band for what it is...something capable of impressive riffing, breakdowns, and drumming, but ultimately weighed down by atrocious vocals and flat out bad songwriting.
7The Black Dahlia Murder
Miasma

I can still rock "Miscarraige" from time to time but this band carries a novelty appeal, too much to take them seriously. And their sound hasnt evolved with subsequent releases. Enough said.
8Say Anything
...is a real boy

This is an amazing album I will never really enjoy again because of the douche bags I associate it with. Can anyone else relate to this? Not with this album in particular, but just the general idea of not enjoying specific bands because of people you know that listen to them.
9Modest Mouse
the lonesome crowded west

I was 16 or so when this was in steady rotation. Its good music but most everyone moves on from their tastes as a teenager for the most part.
10Gorillaz
gorillaz

prolly the first rap I liked. I also want to reiterate that Im not trashing any of these bands. This is a nostalgic list. Its interesting to look back and see how I arrived to my current taste.
