Best Albums Of 2009
There were quite a few albums that came out this year that I liked, but these six stood out ahead of the crowd. These are my favorite albums from the year so far..
Aim and Ignite
Probably the album that caught me most off guard. Came out of nowhere, but I can't stop listening to it. Every song has it's own attitude. Truly dynamic pop.
I thought this would be my album of the year, but it got narrowly beaten out. My only problem with this album is that it's too short. If I have to wait at least 3 years between Brand New albums, I want more.
Merriweather Post Pavilion
Animal Collective's catchiest album yet. Great great album, only thing that bothers me is I'm afraid they're gonna move away from instruments more and keep pursuing this electronic sound. That aside, one of the best of the year.
|4||Matt and Kim|
Once again, I had never heard of these guys, but I'm glad I know them now. Catchy, upbeat music. Strong album.
I was really looking forward to this album, and while I really enjoyed it, the Arctic Monkeys lost some of their charm with this release. Lyrics are a weakness, but still a great album.
Silversun Pickups knew what they did right on their first album, so they didn't make much of an effort to change the formula for their second. I'm glad they left it the same.
1 & 2 are amazing. 6 is just average. I need to losten to 5. Check out latest albums of Therapy? and Future of the Left.
Deeply unoriginal and unimaginative. None of them knew they were robots.
List needs to be less Sputnik
Why the hell does the list need to be less Sputnik when that's the website we're on? Obviously a lot of users get recs from this site, and therefore that's what their favorites are.
Actually, these albums just happen to be well liked by Sputnik. All of the bands I either found on my own a long time ago, or through a friend this year.
