Why September...

...should be incredible. It will also be extremely expensive, but hey, sacrifices must be made sometimes.
1 Imogen Heap
Ellipse

Okay, so it's the last week of August, but close enough. I've been waiting for this for a long, long time, and it's been very elusive. I guess you can say we've been playing...oh, I don't know...hide and seek. Amiright? Amiright?
2Chevelle
Sci-Fi Crimes

For me, these guys were always far and away above their peers as far as radio hard rock goes. Jars is a little formulaic, sure, but it's at least a good formula.
3Dethklok
The Dethalbum II

Do I really need to explain this one?
4 Maserati
Passages

A bunch of rarities and remixes. A stopgap release, definitely, but from a worthwhile band.
5 Beastie Boys
Hot Sauce Committee

Didn't really get into The Mix-Up (not on purpose or anything, I just didn't get around to it), but I'm mostly a fan of the Beasties.
6 It Dies Today
Lividity

I hesitate to put this on here for two reasons: first, the release date has changed like, three dozen times. Second, the buzz I've heard surrounding this album has been pretty negative. But at this point, it's become more of a personal goal to actually finally track this down and listen for myself after months and months of false starts.
7 Shadows Fall
Retribution

Yet another album that most likely won't be phenomenal. But I enjoyed Threads of Life more than most people seemed to, so who knows?
8 Brand New
Daisy

Just started to get into these guys. I only have Deja Entendu so far, but from what I hear, they don't really have a bad album out.
9Porcupine Tree
The Incident

Despite not being about the DHARMA Initiative, I'm still really excited for this album. The sample medley thing on their Myspace page is sick, and Steven Wilson hasn't really disappointed me yet, album-wise.
10Volcano Choir
Unmap

Bon Iver + Collections of Colonies of Bees. Should be good stuff.
11 Alice in Chains
Black Gives Way to Blue

Another one I'm leery about, if only because of the whole replacing Layne aspect. Still, A Looking In View was surprisingly promising, and if the rest of the album sounds like that, it should be a really solid effort by Cantrell & company.
12 Ben Folds
Concert with the NSO at the Kennedy Center

Can't wait. Should be excellent.
13 Porcupine Tree
Concert at Ram's Head Live

The day after the Ben Folds show. I think I can handle it. I'm a trooper.
14 It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Season 5

...premieres on the 17th. And the season 4 DVD comes out on the 8th. Awesome. Now if only FX released some news about Damages...
15 Kings
The Complete Series

Pedantic? A bit. Pretentious? Incredibly. Held back by its network? Oh, you best believe it. But I, for one, was a fan of this flawed exercise of ambition. And Ian McShane is a god.
