Aod's Recent Digs

This is some stuff I had been meaning to sit down and listen to for a while, and just got around to over the last month or so.
In a Flesh Aquarium

One of the strangest, most delightful things I've ever heard. It's dynamic and weird without being too random. Plus, the female vocalist is such a hawtie.
2The Faceless
Planetary Duality

I had heard of these guys through none other than Hot Topic so I assumed some coreness, but when I heard they were playing with Atheist, I figured I'd check 'em out. It's actually a really solid tech death album with some slight deathcore elements. Pleasant surprise.
Red Album

Saw these guys with Opeth and High on Fire a while back and dug em. They're fairly acclaimed around Atlanta since they're part of the Savannah metal scene along with Kylesa and some others. Always cool to rep local bands so I check out the album and I truly love it. It's Mastodon-esque psychedelic metal meets post-rock with a touch of Americana/folk. The album has great atmosphere and emotion. Great listen.
Autumn Aurora

I've listened to pretty much everything these guys have put out and yet somehow overlooked this album. I already thought these guys ruled, but this album is probably my favorite of theirs now. Great fucking ambient black metal.

Hadn't really listened to these guys until Wavering Radient came out and I really dug it, so I gave this album a shot. More awesome post-metal. Oceanic exudes this very desolate feel that's pretty undescribable. I can see why these guys are loved around here.
