| Albums And Feats Of 09
Bands I am looking forward to hearing new material from and others I can't wait to see live in 2009. | 1 | In Fear and Faith
New record drops the first week of the new year. The stuff I've heard sounds incredible so far and their new singer is great. | 2 | All Time Low
They went from the back pocket believers who only sold out their hometown to AP's band of the year. They were quoted saying they were just looking forward to making a great record as opposed to a great pop-punk record so I'm assuming this will be incredible. | 3 | Greenday
Never really been crazy about these guys but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious as to what this is going to sound like. | 4 | Brand New
I mean do we really need a reason here? | 5 | Thursday
See above. On a side note I can't wait to see them headline in a club for the first time. | 6 | Killswitch Engage
A little change could go a long way, I hope they make it happen. | 7 | Silverstein
Shane was quoted saying that this will be one of their heaviest records. Hopefully it's more consistent than their last outing because if not I'm pretty much giving up on their future. | 8 | Chiodos
Bone Palace was incredible and I can't wait to see what these guys think of next. | 9 | Mayday Parade
Their A Lesson in Romantics was hands down the best release of 2007 I discovered this year. I honestly am dumbfounded every time someone calls these guys generic pop-punk. I just don't see bands pulling off the harmonies and dual vocal patterns they do with the guitar work and key changes so please tell me if I am not looking hard enough. | 10 | A Day To Remember
The poppiest stuff they've written and the heaviest stuff they've written will be on their new disc. I'm on board. | 11 | Boys Like Girls
I hate myself... if this sucks I'll feel better. | 12 | Paramore
Group is so talented. Pick up their live DVD and tell me otherwise. This WILL rule. | 13 | Amber Pacific
One of the first pop-punk bands I started liking. Some of their tunes have huge personal ties to me so of course I was pretty bummed when Matt left. Hope their new vocalist is exceptional otherwise this group is just plain done. | 14 | Funeral For A Friend*
Seeing them headline (finally) in January before I go back for Spring semester. The last time they headlined the US was in the fall of 05. They canceled because their drummer threw his back out. This had damn well be worth the wait. | 15 | Metallica*
Once again seeing them live. I could write about three paragraphs as to how excited I am but to save you all some trouble I'll keep it short: this ought to be one of the best nights of my life.

12.26.08 | needs glassjaw | roofi
12.26.08 | Ha, I'm shocked you didn't put Thrice on here. ;)
But yeah, I'm way psyched for 4 and 5 and, to a lesser extent, 2-3 and 12. | ToWhatEnd
12.26.08 | Is Thrice really cranking out more so soon? I'd rather them tour more then record another record honestly. | DaveyBoy
12.26.08 | Great list Mike... And with your taste in music, I need to bookmark this and try to get into some of the bands on here that I haven't given a listen to as yet. | jrowa001
12.27.08 | you know Killswitch Engage's next album is going to be sound just the same and be as boring as their previous albums. i cant wait for 1,4,5 as well. i can care less for 3,7,11,1214. i dont really like Chiodos on album but their live performance is pretty good. ill check out the new album though | ToWhatEnd

I do but I am choosing to live in a state of ignorance until I hear it. | Captain North
12.27.08 | deftones? | Chewie
12.27.08 | uggh, 2 is so god damn bad, this is lacking Deftones, Massive Attack, Mastodon, AFI and a wack of others that I can't remember | tombits
12.27.08 | Can't say i'm not interested in the new Silverstein, I was a huge fan back in the day. Still haven't listened to the newest record, but When Broken Is Easily Fixed still gets a nostalgic play or two every now and then. | dropdead
12.29.08 | i like most, but i'm not in love with paramore any more since they are too teeny boppy and the rest are great most of the time... o.O |
