|Girls and music (edit)|
Music/songs/bands I've associated with girls that I used to know.
For the girl who I'm still friends with but in the past wished I was with:
The Killers - When You Were Young (song was playing in the background when we were working on a project together). Good times.
Avicii - Wake Me Up (saw her dance to this song)
Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? (she is a big fan of AM)
Twenty One Pilots - Ride (song was popular during a time when I saw her randomly)
Judah & The Lion - Take It All Back (heard this on the way back from hanging out at her house a little bit ago)
Bastille - Pompeii (song was popular when we were in middle school together)
|2||Carly Rae Jepsen|
For all my random middle school crushes:
Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (just a classic)
Calvin Harris - Feel So Close (still a great song)
Taio Cruz - Dynamite (fun song that I remember)
Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (heard this on the way to hang out with a girl in middle school) also Last Friday Night could be included now that I think about it.
Rihanna - We Found Love (anthem of middle school love)
For the one that destroyed me (part 1):
Blink 182- the band in general and Adam's Song & I Miss You She introduced me to Blink and got me a little into them. Can't hear them mentioned or one of their songs without immediately thinking of her.
Nine Inch Nails - the band I introduced to her. Held her while listening to Hurt. Joked about doing naughty things while listening to Closer and Sunspots. The Fragile was the perfect song for us.
Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are (watched the Super Bowl a few years back with her when BM sung this live. I knew immediately that I'd always think of her when I heard this. I still do).
The Airborne Toxic Event - Sometime Around Midnight (was at the movies a couple of years after it ended and I saw her with her friends. We made eye contact but pretended like we didn't know each other, didn't even acknowledge each other. That was the last time I saw her.)
The Neighborhood - Sweater Weather (she mentioned she liked this song, I do too).
|4||The Brian Jonestown Massacre|
For the one that destroyed me (part 2):
The Brian Jonestown Massacre: She's Gone (incredibly cathartic song I discovered, love it)
Red Kite - Montreal (great indie song with relevant lyrics: "I remember how it went stopped talking to you
You stopped talking to me when we were 23
You drifted to the coast
I took off for the sea
We thought that was the end of what was you and me
Well then I hit the skids and you came back around
You took me to a show and then we went out on the town
You drank a little wine, you told me where you'd been
You told me about the terrors and the horror that you'd seen
Well I was out of line, I never meant to bail, I should have watched the waters when your ships setting sail
I guess I should have known that I'd wind up on my own
This is an apology for the man I couldn't be back when we were twenty three"
Slint - Good Morning, Captain ("I MISS YOU!")
Sophie - Just Like We Never Said Goodbye
For the mysterious older girl:
Blanck Mass - Please (beautiful song that I was listening to a lot when I had a crush on her)
The Fray - Over My Head (sums up what I was trying to do when I was thinking of dating her)
The Weeknd - Tears In The Rain (was listening to this at the end of the school year/when she graduated)
I Will Never Be The Same - the band in general, I was listening to them a lot at the end of the year
Weezer - Only In Dreams
For all my random high school crushes:

Rival Schools - Used For Glue

Foster the People - Coming Of Age
Ellie Goulding - Still Falling For You
