In Memoriam

It's been a tough year for me and mine. It started with the passing of the person who gave me my passion for music. We'd always be sharing music together, seeing what music I liked of his and his of mine. Here's a list of albums that contain countless memories. Don't mind me as I reminisce. Nothing but smiles here.
1Dream Theater
Awake

One of so many Dream Theater albums we'd obsess over together. I'll never forget our picture we got with Mike Portnoy in 2009.
2Twelve Foot Ninja
Silent Machine

The one album I remember you loving the most, especially for the latin influence.
3Deep Purple
Machine Head

If there's one song that epitomizes the way you lived your life, it has to be "Highway Star"
4Childish Gambino
"Awaken, My Love!"

The last album I got to show you. I'll always remember your comparisons of Childish to Prince.
5Gamalon
High Contrast

Completely unlocked the entire late 80's easy listening/prog rock(?) genre for me.
6Pantera
Cowboys From Hell

I remember Cemetery Gates being the first song I tried learning on the drums at age 7, and then you showed me how it was done. It's only fair that I got to play it for you at your wake. What a moment it was. My favorite song ever.
7Audioslave
Audioslave

Cochise was the first song you ever got to hear me play live. Unforgettable.
8Trivium
The Crusade

They were never quite your jam, but this was the first album you ever bought me and the first show you ever took me to. I remember you shoving me in front of the line to get material signed.
9Evergrey
The Inner Circle

I remember the exact moment: We were going through your massive collection of CDs and you handed a random CD to me asking if I wanted to check these guys out. You had never even listened to it before and apparently didn't really care to for whatever reason. Well, I took it in my room and listened to it and it quickly became one of my favorite albums with one of my favorite songs ever.
10Led Zeppelin
Houses of the Holy

A favorite for the both of us. Nothing reminds me of you more.
