CHRIS NOLAN RANKED (Post Dunkirk)

That goddamn Nolan decided to take a step back from his classic narrative style and he made a war movie that resulted empty and pretentious.. i remind you that this list is based only on my personal feel with his cinema and my perception of his view.. please prepare your anal creams
11Gorillaz
The Fall

The Dark Knight Rises
6/10
yeah, cool
10Swans
Filth

Insomnia
6.2/10
9Hans Zimmer
Dunkirk

Dunkirk
6.3 / 10
The war movie with the most irrelevant characters I've ever seen. What happened to you, Nolan? You can not write a script based only on the technical side of the movie. Who do you want to astonish? I'm sorry but this is really disappointing especially after the fucking votes and reviews i saw on the internet. I got hyped just in time to be disappointed by this pretentious crap. I mean, it is technically amazing, nothing to say about that, but the frammented narrative makes it boring and confused instead of giving it a Nolan vibe, mostly because none of the characters are defined, you get no empathy with anybody and that's pretty bad for a war movie.
8Hans Zimmer
Dunkirk

Look at Malick's Thin Red Line. It also looks pretentious, especially the first time you watch it, but in that movie, you get a lot off the charaters if you try to analyse them a little more. You also get a strong message brilliantly defined. Same for Saving Private Ryan.
But this is really anonymous and looks almost like a bland academic exercise
7Hans Zimmer
Interstellar

Interstellar
6.7/10
Another blockbuster that gets almost patethic in the end, less bright than what it seems. The hell you want from me chris? you wanna make me cry? No, you force me to cry, and that is sign of arrogance and imposition of what you want to say, pretending it is amazing, but it's not. Script in this movie gets cringy sometimes
6Oxbow
The Narcotic Story

Batman Begins
7.3/10
5Hans Zimmer
Inception

Inception
7.5/10
A long, interesting blockbuster, but nothing more. Money helped Nolan to build up a bigger intrigue but in the process, he lost part of his touch in writing characters and dialogues, so that makes it not particularly memorable to me.
4Massive Attack
Mezzanine

The Dark Knight
7.8/10
Probably the most relevant cinecomic ever made
3Slint
Spiderland

Following
7.8/10
Following is claustrophobic, filthy, full of joy and passion of making cinema and even if is uncertain sometimes, it's a brilliant debut. an hour that crosses your eyes in a moment, tells you an interesting and intriguing story and leaves you with a satisfying plot twist. Again, nothing particularly amazing, but enjoyable and with a lot of merits.
2Radiohead
The King of Limbs

The Prestige
8/10
1David Lynch
The Big Dream

Memento
9/10
It's basically two movies in one depending on the version you are watching. The original or the chronological one. Simply brilliant
