This round is gonna be a little different, gonna break the format of picking a genre and try something else. Your competitors are: nazz, bloon, Ovrot, drifter, claire, friv, sandwich, wolfe, ramon, dctarga, kris, bgill, latitudes, zip, clover, aaron, avagantamos, and sach
1Alkaline Trio
Goddamnit

ROUND 3 (still single tracks)

Songs about Satan/the Devil but not Metal

SAVES:

Ovrot - 1
ramon - 1
2Laura Marling
I Speak Because I Can

claire

"Devil's Spoke (I Speak Because I Can)"

kinda blusey folk music. her voice was pretty interesting, but not really what i'm into. I dug the lyrics tho. song got better half way through with the chord progression change. idk if i'll check her, but it was a nice song. 3.0/5.0
3Direct Hit!
Domesplitter

Kris.

"Satan Says"

some fast pop punk in the style of stuff like the larry arms/dillinger four and other raspy voice shit. lyrics were cool, just overall a really fun straightfoward punk song. 3.4/5.0
4Nosferatu D2
We're Gonna Walk Around This City...

Drifter

"The Mojo Top 100"

pretty cool song, really sloppy and borderline dancy at some points. walked a weird line of being some british indie rock and 90's emo. you gotta stop reccing this band now tho drifter. 3.4/5.0 - .1 for the repeat: 3.3/5.0
5Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
Tender Prey

aaron:

"Up Jumped the Devil"

bass line was cool right off the bat, song was kinda weird and menacing. I'll be honest and I feel bad aaron, but I absolutely can not stand the vocals on this at all. just sounded like.... too theatrical to me? idk, it definitely got cooler about 2:50, but in general this was just not what I like at all. it sounded like it could've been a song on the nightmare before christmas soundtrack. some cool moments saved it from being lower than average. 2.5/5.0
6James Cotton
Dealin' With The Devil

Bloon

"Dealin With The Devil"

i like the blues, but mainly just guitar + voice, but this was still pretty classic. dude has a good voice and this was the kinda thing I had in mind when I thought of this rounds theme. either way, still didn't blow me away or anything, really standard stuff. 3.5/5.0
7My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult
I See Good Spirits And I See Bad Spirits

latitudes:

"And This Is What The Devil Does"

man this song was super fucking 80's. didn't like it nearly as much as the other one, was a little to major key for me and a little too repetitive. vocals reminded me of NIN tbh. either way, it was decent but nothing amazing. 3.3/5.0 - .1 for the repeat, 3.2/5.0
8Chxpo
Episode One

sach

"The Devil's Wife"

song slapped, beat was dope, chxpo goes hard as per usual. not much criticism here.. still need to check more of his stuff. best thing I've heard so far this round. 4.0/5.0
9Protomartyr
The Agent Intellect

zippa

"The Devil In His Youth"

didn't know what to expect with the first 30seconds, but it really picked up when the drums started. just some sad sounding indie rock about the devil. good stuff although pretty by-the-numbers. album art was cool. 3.5/5.0
10Teenage Fanclub
Bandwagonesque

SandwichBubble

"Satan"

started off pretty chaotic with some feedback and fast drumming, and then kept going. was really really all over the place, but it really worked. when it finally kicked in, I started the song over and played it again. wish it was just a little bit longer. 3.8/5.0
11Billy Talent
Billy Talent II

Dctarga

"Devil In A Midnight Mass"

opening riff ruled. billy talent's vocalist has always been something that shouldn't be up my alley, but it works for me for some reason. song was catchy and fun. really dug some of the harmonies. overall just a really solid song. 3.75/5.0
12Evil Superstars
Boogie-Children-R-Us

clover

"Satan Is In my Ass"

okay this fucking ruled dude. sloppy and weird as hell, was not expecting the harmonies at all. the song changes its feel multiple times but it all works. its obviously very silly with the lyrical content, which works most of the time for me. really loved this one man, just super interesting stuff. 4.3/5.0 -WINNER-
13Lil B
Red Flame

Nazzadan

"Happy New Years"

this beat was so bad lmao and brandon is ridiculous on this, but i laughed the entire song. WELCOME TO HELL BITCH I'M THE DEVIL. Pretty much everything I love about him is on this track. 4.0/5.0
14Rainbow Kitten Surprise
Seven

bgillesp

"Devil Like Me"

this sounded like music you'd find on the rack while waiting in line at starbucks or during some tv commercial that is trying to reach a new millennial audience. hated this, sorry man. 1.5/5.0 -ELIMINATED-
15Zeal and Ardor
Devil is Fine

ramon

"Devil Is Fine"

really not my style at all, but it got stuck in my head and I really loved his voice. not enough to make it something I really check out again, but it was a decent listen. 3.5/5.0
16Lucifer
Black Mass

Ovrot

"Black Mass"

song was creepy and awesome. loved the synth tones, you seem to really know what I like lol. made me feel like I was chillin with a sorcerer trying to do some weird blood magic during some spooky ritual. great stuff 4.2/5.0
17Boris
Smile

Avagantamos

"My Neighbor Satan"

song was really nice, hand't heard this one by them. really like the mix of the mellow melody and the weird distorted backing guitar. absolutely ruled once it kicked in around 2:30. need to check this album by them. 4.1/5.0
18Happy Meals
Toaster

Friv

Album wasn't int DB: "HMLTD - Satan, Luella, and I"

started pretty spooky, but idk man, this just wasn't for me. very theatrical, didn't like his voice, wasn't really into the piano line in the background. way too glammy and cheesy for me. again, I am sorry friv. 2.0/5.0
-ELIMINATED-
19Willie Nelson
Shotgun Willie

wolfe

"Devil in a sleeping bag"

classic willie nelson tune, never really jammed his albums but I've always really dug his voice and style. just a super super solid country tune, harmonies were great, very laid back. gotta jam some more of him. 4.0/5.0
