Update/Lack Long After Ranked

Haven't been around with the Sput users for quite some time and I really haven't listened to anything new this year. Kinda lost motivation to keep on top of ratings and listening to a ton of new artists year after year is a hell of a grind, which 2016 really proved to me. Real life has been mostly stuck in a low point and I've been busy with work and/or busy avoiding work and haven't felt up to reviewing and all that jazz. Still hanging in there and getting on when I can. Hope y'all are having good times. Here's a song ranking for an awesome album just to keep the creative juices flowing.
8Pianos Become the Teeth
Liquid Courage

Next to "I'll Get By," this is the only real 'slow burner' on the album. It's a great track to continue setting the mood for the album, but its content isn't quite as dense and interesting as fellow songs. It works as a great set up to "Spine," if nothing else.
7Shared Bodies

A really solid entry on the album, chock-full of awesome post-hardcore riffs. A very strong song, but it's eclipsed by the album's better tracks. Still a great showcase of the band's ability overall.
6I'll Get By

Yeah, this one isn't one of my top favorites for the album. I love it and think it's an appropriate closer, but the climax just doesn't quite stack up when compared to the superior cuts from the album. What really drives the song is the vocal performance, which really gives great color to the lyrical content.
5I'll Be Damned

For an album as emotionally intense as Lack Longer After, you need a proper opener to accurately set the mood. "I'll Be Damned" fits the bill like a glove and really gives you a great sense of what this release will have in store for you.
4Sunsetting

The opening and closing riffs for this song are executed perfectly. The rest of the song is amazing, of course, both those two sections are particularly amazing and are really memorable.
3Spine

"Spine" goes straight from your throat right from the start with a ferocity unmatched by most other songs on this album and in general, honestly. The frantic drumming and the loud, melodic guitars run completely unhinged, beautifully complimenting the raw vocal performance.
2Good Times

This song is so damn haunting. The lyrics are, if you haven't caught on yet, incredibly emotion and will really bring a reaction out of you. Here, the band's ability to craft intricate riffs one after the other shines proudly as the tune races around stunning guitar work.
1Such Confidence

Unlike most of the songs on the album, "Such Confidence" takes its entire duration to build up. It explodes into a climax like fellow tracks, but the journey there is just so much more memorable. Everything starts quiet and reserved, the unrestrained screams sounding distant beneath the pounding drums. Each passage, the guitars seem to get louder and more aggressive, hammering out every note, brutally imprinting the devastating lyrics into your head. The entire sound of The Lack Long After is fully exhibited in this song moreso than any other and remains my personal favorite.
