Bad albums by good bands, final

Final installment in the adventure my coworker and I undertook. The goal was to find the worst album by bands we liked, bands that are critically well received, or bands that have a decent average rating across multiple albums here on Sput. DK= duckking, my coworker Me= me, me
1The Rolling Stones
Dirty Work

DK: 2, Bad.  Gonna get some sleep tonight.
Me: 1.5, This sucked.
2u2
No Line on the Horizon

DK: 1.5, Did we finish this?  Did we listen to it?  Was it on?  Is this an album?
Me: 1.5, Pretty not good, sad!
3Jethro Tull
Under Wraps

DK: 1.5, Waaaaaaay too much stock 80's keyboard cliches.  Awful.  Absolutely awful.
Me: 1.5, I'd rather listen to The Europeans hit song Animal Song on repeat
4The Allman Brothers Band
Brothers of the Road

DK: 2.5, It was music.
Me: 2.5, Not sure why this is considered so horrible, it was just meh
5Ramones
Acid Eaters

DK: 2.5, Seemed like every other song was bad, but had some decent covers.
Me: 2.5, Had some good covers, had some bad covers.  Averaged out to an average album
6Black Flag
What The...

DK: 1.5, Black Flag is too big to get away with something this amatuer and terrible.
Me: 1.5, Not as bad as Lulu or St. Anger, but it was starting to give me a headache
7Huey Lewis and the News
Hard at Play

DK: 2, not particularly bad, but not good either
Me: 2, Bleh not very good
8The Smashing Pumpkins
Zeitgeist

DK: 3, Not a Smashing Pumpkins fan, but this wasn't bad.  Daresy I kinda liked it.
Me: 3, Enjoyed listening to it, will never listen to it again
9Goo Goo Dolls
Boxes

DK: 1.5, Garbage paint-by-numbers commitee rock.  Only song I remember sounded like they said they "sold out".
Me: 1.5, They are just trying to sound like every modern indie rock band
10Matchbox Twenty
North

DK: 3, Didn't blow my mind, but was inoffensive and there was definitely some create songwriting.
Me: 3, Generic rock done correctly
11Train
A Girl A Bottle A Boat

DK: 1.5, Fuck Train and their creatively bankrupt formulaic pop crap.
Me: 1, This was offensively bad.  It wasn't St. Anger or Lulu bad, but good god it tried its hardest to be
12John Mellencamp
Dance Naked

DK: 2, Mellencamp really phoned this one in.
Me: 2, Phoned in, lazy, meh
13Misfits
The Devil's Rain

DK: 2, A meh album brought down by a mediocre vocalist.  By the last couple tracks I was done.
Me: 2, Jerry Only should stick to playing bass
14Foghat
Zig Zag Walk

DK: 2.5. I genuinely enjoyed the last three tracks.  Shame the rest of the album was so bad.
Me: 2, First half was a hard 1.5, second half was a 2.5.  Averaging to a 2
15The Killers
Battle Born

DK: 2, All the joy and inspiration of a cell phone ad.
Me: 2.5, As a fan, it dissapointed me but still wasn't the worst thing ever.  Their worst ever though, for sure
16The Animals
Eric Is Here

DK: 2.5, Kind of a generic 60's sound.
Me: 2, Had a couple songs I really dug but overall was boring/bland
17Live
Songs From Black Mountain

DK: 3, This wasn't bad. I actually liked it.
Me: 3, Ended up enjoying this a decent amount
18White Zombie
Make Them Die Slowly

DK: 2, You can tell this is where their creative talents diverged, or they were just sick of it all.
I didn't listen to this apparently
19Iron Butterfly
Scorching Beauty

DK: 1.5, Oh man, this was horrible.  Like some kind of hippie fever dream.
Me: 1.5, The vocals were terrible and overshadowed anything good that could be happening with instruments
20Static-X
Cult Of Static

DK: 1.5, I don't think this would have been a good album even if the other half of the band showed up.
Me: 1.5, this felt like it was missing entire instruments
21Machine Head
Supercharger

DK: 2.5, It's Nu-Metal, and by default it sucks, but it was leagues better than 'Cult of Static'.
Me: 2, butt-nu-metal
22The Beach Boys
Summer in Paradise

DK: 2, Voice effects?  Check.  Drum machine?  Check.  Sax solos?  Check.
Me: 1.5, Maybe I'd enjoy this if I was from Utah
23Suicidal Tendencies
Free Your Soul...And Save My Mind

DK: 3, A decently enjoyable album marred by a couple missteps.  Not nearly as bad as I was expecting.
Me: 3, Good!  Felt way more crossovery than I expected so late in their career
24The Yardbirds
Birdland

DK: 2.5, Decent covers, but nothing ground breaking.  Still, I didn't hate it.
Me: 2.5, Was okay, lots of covers and some good songs but album was too long for what it was
25The Byrds
Farther Along

DK: 2.5, Some ok, country sounding songs, and one really annoying crossfaded song.
Me: 2.5, The song about America's national pasttime sucked hard, other than that nothing that bad
26The Stooges
The Weirdness

DK: 1.5, Competently produced, but christ I just wanted it to end.
Me: 1.5, Bad!  Not good!
