Bad albums by good bands part 3
Part 3 of the list. Bands are either good, have released decent material, have multiple albums above a 3 on sput, or one of the two of us likes them
What About Now
DK: 1.5, I knew we were in for a shit-slide during the first 3 seconds. Everything was bad.
Me: 1.5, This album made me question if Bon Jovi were ever even any good
DK: 1.5, I just wanted it to end. A complete slog from the first note to the fade out at the end.
Me: 1.5, More like Dooken's Bowelmovementlife
DK: 2, Eh. Some of the songs were merely passable, but wasn't good overall. First track was bad.
Me: 2.5, Okay heavy metal album, a bit of a letdown considering it's Dio
Revolutions Per Minute
DK: 2.5, I kinda liked two of the tracks, but this album had no idea what it wanted to be.
Me: 2, Wasn't really offensively bad, just sorta sucked and was all over the place stylistically
DK: 2, Extremely boring. One track towards the end was mildly interesting.
Me: 2, made me very sleepy
A Twisted Christmas
DK: 2.5, I certainly didn't hate it, but the only real decent track was essentially 'We're Not Gonna Take It'.
Me: 2.5, Enjoyable at points but the last song gave me a migraine
DK: 2, A bit more passion than Journey's Arrival, but still dull. Forgot it was on at times.
Me: 2, another bland inofenssive snoozefest
DK: 2, Don't remember anything about it, other than it's inoffensiveness.
Me: 2, Another classic rock band making a boring album 20 years after they were past relevancy
Kilroy Was Here
DK: 2, One okay song, and a whole lot of blah.
Me: 2, As expected, the only good song was Mr. Roboto. The end was good, because it was Mr. Roboto again.
DK: 2, The entire album sounded the same. Dylan flanked by gospel singers, and I'm wondering "Why?"
Me: 1.5, Felt longer than 43 minutes, just Bob surrounded by gospel singers mumbling about being ready
DK: 3, Not really my genre, but I enjoyed it well enough.
Me: 3, Some songs drug on for a bit too long but overall enjoyable. Makes me want to see the film
DK: 2.5, A few good songs, and a few ho-hum songs. Not as bad as I was expecting.
Me: 2, Meh.
|13||Blue Oyster Cult|
DK: 2.5, The final track was pretty cool, the song about beating someone up was cringe inducing.
Me: 3, Thought it was pretty good. I wasn't actively suffering really at any time
Bolan's Zip Gun
DK: 1.5, Oh dear god, this was awful. The backup singers were grating, and they're on the whole album.
Me: 1.5, VERY bad, obviously someone in the band was dating a girl that he promised to let do backing vocals
|15||The Doobie Brothers|
DK: 2.5, I remember the song "Dangerous" when I was a kid. "Excited" was a complete SRV rip-off.
Me: 2.5, Other than a blatant ripoff here or there, it was okay!
Everything Must Go
DK: 2.5, Sounded like Steely Dan without an idea. You can tell this was at the breaking point.
Me: 2, You can actually pinpoint exactly where they realized it was crap and broke up after
DK: 2.5, "Meh" Dad-Rock. Wouldn't be angry if it came on in a bar, but it wasn't particularly good.
Me: 2, My dad would probably think this is boring
DK: 2.5, I really love the first track on the album, but the rest of it was rather mild.
Me: 2.5, Started strong, petered out in the middle, ended on a decent couple songs
Diabolus in Musica
DK: 3, Not a Slayer fan, but was far from terrible.
Me: 3, Expected St. Anger, got Load/Reload
DK: 3, Definitely felt 90's, like they wanted to change their sound but didn't know what direction to go.
Me: 3, Didn't sound like Anthrax, but it was fine. Pantera-lite
Inb4 none of these are good.
Was surprised by how decent Slayer and Anthrax's worst was.
"Heh, 'good' bands? Heh. Heh. Has anyone made that joke yet?"
none of these are g...
this did not need three parts
frankly it didn't need to be made in the first place but it certainly didn't need three fucking parts
ah, it's not bad
Buckle up homestuck there's probably 2 more parts at least
You may want to contact the police, SnakeDelilah, as someone is obviously holding a gun to your head and forcing you to click on these lists.
Actually I lied, part 4 will be the last part I'll just make it 30 long to include the rest of the list.
found it hard not to click on this when it went from "good bands" to "popular/good/decent bands"
like what an attention grabber i'm really excited to see nazzadink's opinion of whatever garbage steely dan released in 1985
I tried to make it as obvious as possible from the title that these are not the worst albums by bands like Brand New, Emperor, etc. One more installment of this and I will fade back into a list a year :3c
Fair enough though I should have kept the title the same
let's just establish that popular does not equate to good, quite often it's the inverse
just make whatever fucking lists you want fuck what anyone thinks you fuck
Also, check Metal Machine Music or squeeze
Well the next project is "best albums by bands we don't like" and that one is already longer than this. But it will be months before we get through the whole list, so that will be fun to upload.
what does DK mean
DK is Duckking, coworker/fellow sputter
is he a member of KKK
wait i meant Dead Kennedys
yeah that's what i meant of course
why make these lists
