hal1ax 02.14.17	Type 2 schizophrenia has been linked to being purely genetic in origin, and has one of the most exorbitant suicide rates among the entire pathologicial spectrum. So if we are all genetically hardwired for staying alive, how could a genetically predisposed affliction exist which almost drives every one of its sufferers to death.

Humans are genetically pre-wired to want to stay alive, but there are certain individuals who have a genetic defect that overrides that wiring? I dunno I'm by no means educated in biology/medicine, but I don't think that the mere existence of an illness that drives you to kill yourself is an argument against a (general) genetic survival instinct.

Divaman 02.14.17	For much of my life, I was certain I'd be dead by a certain age. Didn't happen. Funny thing is, once I got past that age and realized I was wrong, it freed me up to do all sorts of things with my life I never thought I would do.
