DGD Ranking/ open discussion

With the release of Mothership there has been a surge of "which DGD album is the best" 'debates'. List is my ranking. Feel free to share your's in the comments.
8Dance Gavin Dance
Happiness

I know a controversial decision, in fact some may have stopped reading at this point I suspect just to comment "8 is 1" and to call me an idiot. Thing is though I'm just not a fan of Happiness. Sure the funky direction of the album is nice (and I even think this album makes a good starting point for people who haven't heard DGD before), however for me too many times this album has a tendency of repeating a chorus to the point that it honestly becomes a tad annoying (especially on Strawberry Swisher pt. 1 and 2).

Acceptance Speech

It would seem this suffered from trying too many new things at once. A new clean vocalist in Tilian and ambitious genre blending along with a new producer mixing in the form of Matt Malpass, something was bound to go wrong. Good thing they went back to the more than capable hands of Kris Crummett for IG and Mothership.

Dance Gavin Dance

This album showed that despite key member changes DGD would still carry on in style. Also on a side note the fact that they didn't record the version of "Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most" with all 3 clean vocalists for the Tree City Sessions is a travesty.
5Dance Gavin Dance
Instant Gratification

The album title is certainly apt. This album takes a much 'softer' and 'concise' approach by DGD standards. Still a fun listen though.

Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean

Where it all started. Following the break ups of both Ghost Runner on Third and Farewell Unknown a couple of guys got together and created an ep that after 10 years still holds up. This ep still consists of some of the longest DGD songs recorded as well (just thought that was worth mentioning for some reason).
3Dance Gavin Dance
Mothership

This may be new but I'm sure one day I will look back on this as an 'oldie but a goodie'. At this point these guys are just having fun and (well for the majority at least) that sense of fun is infectious.
2Dance Gavin Dance
Downtown Battle Mountain

With this release DGD developed on the sound from WISIRO and cemented their place in the post-hardcore scene. Also love him or hate him I still find it amazing that Jonny did his vocals for "And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman" in one take, having not bothered to come up with lyrics beforehand (and whilst most likely being high as well).
1Dance Gavin Dance
Downtown Battle Mountain II

My favourite DGD album and my favourite album of all time. I can play this from start to finsih again and again and again. This album just doesn't get old for me (even the intro to "Thug City" which is my favourite DGD track in case you were wondering).
