Slashs September 2016

What? You tryna come in MY HOUSE and tell ME that I am late with this? I am not tolerating this level of disrespect around here.
1Tory Lanez
Mr. Peterson

Canadian-Hop// Kinda underwhelming early work from Tory, but it has some jams here and there that i can't really deny. //3/5
2Tory Lanez
Chixtape

Autocrooning-without-Autotune// A definite step in the right direction for Tory back in 2011, and he did kina predict how the future of R'n'B was going to sound, so, I'll give him that. //3.5/5
3Various Artists (Country)
Southern Family

Alternative-Country// An instant-classic in this genre if I ever heard one. Dave Cobb really is a mastermind, and every song on here is beautiful, moving, inviting and comforting at the same damn time. Amazing stuff. //5/5
4Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
Skeleton Tree

Nick Cave// So i really don't wanna talk about this album because it makes me very uncomfortable. //4/5
5Future
Kno Mercy

Trap// It's early music by Future, he enunciates more, but the production is worse. Very cohesive and enjoyable, though. //3/5
6Future
True Story

Trap// Magic through to Tony Montana is one of the best hat-tricks I ever heard on a mixtape, but the rest is sadly just some standard stuff for early Fewtch. Eh. //3,5/5
7Various Artists
I Listen to the Wind That Obliterates My Traces

Old-Time// Hyper-obscure, hyper-emotive old-ime music from WAAAAAYYYYY back. Has a very ethereal and fading vibe to it that makes it all just hit that much harder, and considering this is a 2-CD compilation, this is a breeze to sit through. Even has some field-recordings and sound-effects thrown in there. Beautiful. //4,5/5
8Lil Uzi Vert
Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World

Bubblegum-Trap// Idunno, i just really enjoy listening to him squawk his way through these sugary beats. //3,5/5
9Mick Jenkins
The Mickstape

Chicago-Hop// Really solid but also really undercooked first official project by Mick. The audio quality is sketchy, some songs are downright horrendous (Cold Chillin, Loafin), but it has enough character and honest to god hits (Purple Snowflakes) to justify it's existence. Also, it has his first traces of concept-driven projects, this time it's himself and MONEYYYYYYYYYYY, but seperately. //3/5
10Cult Classic Records
Friends and Family

Downtempo/Instrumental Hip-Hop// Really cool compilation by this underground label, doesn't run too ong and every beat is immediately distinctive. I dig it! //4/5
11Cult Classic Records
Friends & Family 2

Same// Not as good as the first one, it's wayy too long, and the second CD has some really cringy rappers on board. Still a good effort. //3/5
12Cult Classic Records
Friends & Family 3

SAME// This is better, but kinda inconsistent with the quality of the beats. there are some absolute highlights, but the lows are LOW. //3,5/5
13Lilly
Living at Home EP

Sadboi-Hop// Really talented rapper from the UK, manages to make sad hip-hop that is really not cringy but really emotional and brutally honest. The audio-quality is kinda sketchy sometimes, though. Has some good hooks and beats as well. //3,5/5
