Thank You Sput (Will Update)

This list is basically all the albums I have downloaded over the past couple of days thanks to your recs! I will listen to them all and give my rating! Also name of user is person who rec'd it to me (:
1LSD and the Search for God
LSD and the Search for God

guitarded_chuck
Rating: 4.05/5 Probably my favorite shoegaze rec so far. These guys really nail the whole fuzzy atmospheric sound and the boy/girl vox are perfect. It's also short enough that it doesn't get too same-y. Starting Over is such a killer track.
2Asobi Seksu
Citrus

GmemberKills
Rating: 3.78/5 So this was really good. So many highlights on this album like Strawberries, Thursday, Lions and Tigers and Exotic Animal Parade. Some tracks were too dream poppy for my tastes but when they kept that shoegze sound it was great. Prob an album I will come back to for specific songs though.
3Lilys
In the Presence of Nothing

GmemberKills
Rating: 2.77/5 Thought this was kinda boring to be honest. I guess older shoegaze really isn't for me.
4The Twilight Sad
Nobody Wants To Be Here And Nobody Wants To Leave

braspberries
Rating: 3.60/5 Ugh I wished I liked this more. Loved the first couple tracks but this album really started to drag. Unique sound though for a shoegaze band, just wished there was more energy like that first track.
5Ovlov
am

braspberries
Rating: 3.19/5 Hmm...ok so there's like 3 really solid tracks on here, 3 decent ones and the rest are just a bit too strange/abrasive for my tastes. Where's My Dini is really cool though and I'll come back to that track a lot. Overall though this looked cooler than it sounds.
6Sweet Trip
You Will Never Know Why

Keyblade
Rating: 3.88/5 Great indie pop/shoegaze album. Much more accessible than their other album. This drags a bit and is kinda same-y at times but there are some stellar tracks on here.
7Autolux
Pussy's Dead

TheSpaceMan
Rating: 3.63/5 Potential grower for sure. Loved the whole atmosphere on this thing, really gave off a cold, electronic yet groovy feel. There's some tracks I don't care for but the overall mood makes up for it. Brainwasher is such a killer track though
8Death Cab for Cutie
We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes

Ocean of Noise
Rating: 3.93/4 Liked this as much as Transatlanticism. Love the emo-tinged sound they had going on and the lyrics are fantastic.
9Enemies
Embark Embrace

ashcrash9
Rating: 3.82/5 Really bubbly math rock, perfect for summer listening. Also, this seems like a definite grower.
10Low
I Could Live in Hope

brainmelter/Spec
Rating: 3.77/5 Man this is very depressing and bleak. This is an album that I won't be able to listen to a lot, but when I'm in the right mood I can see myself liking it even more. Throwing this a 4 because even though I didn't enjoy this as much as some of the 3.5s on here, this is a grower and it won't be able to grow until a sad, late night.
11Nick Drake
Pink Moon

Shoteru
Rating: 4.12/5 Yeah this is perfect for me tbh. Love the depressed singer songwriter stuff and this is a classic. Also reading about his life made this even more depressing. Should've listened to this long, long ago.
12Crywank
Tomorrow Is Nearly Yesterday...

JayKb
Rating: 2.71/5 This is honestly not that good. Really same-y and although there's some devastating lyrics on here they didn't really hit me that hard. Not the greatest guitarist either.
13Frightened Rabbit
Painting of a Panic Attack

AdolfChrist
Rating: 3.45/5 Honestly this was a hard album to get through and I'm not sure why. I really loved the first couple of songs but a lot of these songs kinda fell flat for me. The highlights on this album are really good though but I think I enjoy the rawness of Midnight Organ a bit more. Lump Street is a fantastic song and I hope they play it live when I see them soon.
14Julien Baker
Sprained Ankle

BlushfulHippocrene
Rating: 4.46/5 So subtle yet so hauntingly beautiful. Love the emo vibes on here yet its just a simple acoustic folk/indie album. One of my favorite discoveries
15Gates
Parallel Lives

minty901
Rating: 3.73/5 So this was really promising after the first couple songs. But the rest of the album is just too soft/not as moving as I hoped it would be. Really drags in the middle but Left Behind saves the back half. Can't justify this being a 4 though or better than their first
16Direct Hit!
Wasted Mind

Atari/CL0VER
Rating: 3.71 Yeah this is pretty killer. Some of the lyrics are dumb and sometimes there's a not so good song that pops up but it's just so fun and rambunctious.
17Soap and Skin
Lovetune for Vacuum

hal1ax
Rating:
18Manic Street Preachers
The Holy Bible

TVC15
Rating: 3.11/5 I def enjoyed some of these songs, but this is an album that I feel like I would've liked a lot more if I discovered it during my 90s alt rock phase. Could grow on me but I feel like this is around a 3 for now. Cool vocals though
19Bad Astronaut
Houston: We Have a Drinking Problem

CL0VER
Rating: 3.85/5 Great indie rock/pop album. A lot of these songs are absolute jams, but I feel like the main issue with it is it drags on a bit too long. However, I feel like the songs that didn't click with me the first couple of listens will click with repeated tries. The immediate standout tracks are awesome though. Can't wait to return to this.
20David Sylvian
Secrets of the Beehive

Frippertonics
Rating:
21Danny L Harle
Broken Flowers

iloveyouall
Rating:
22Time Spent Driving
Just Enough Bright

lazyeye
Rating: 3.62/5 Really solid 90s emo tbh but this album is really nothing more than that. I wish more songs jumped out as me as highlights but it was a bit same-y for me. Maybe with repeated listens I'll latch onto more songs, who knows. Good stuff though

The Seatbelts - Future Blues

CalculatingInfinity
Rating: 3/5 Not sure why you rec'd this to me tbh. Was pretty cool I guess but seemed like typical bluesy rock to me. Also I have never seen the movie it's supposedly the soundtrack to. So overall this is pretty good I guess.
32Pryapisme
Hyperblast Super Collider

BallsDeep
Rating:
33Jimmy Eat World
Static Prevails

lazyeye
Rating: 3.65/5 Clarity is better all I'm saying.
34DJ Spooky
Songs Of A Dead Dreamer

Sinternet
Rating: 3.11/5 Okay I really enjoyed a couple of tracks off of this one. Galactic Funk had a really nice groove to it, Hologrammic Dub was a sweet track, Anansi Abstrakt had a pretty cool concept except it was just repeated a bit too much for my taste. Standout track though was definitely Grapheme man that shit bangs and has the right atmosphere down. High Density is also cool when the tempo picks up. Overall though I thought this was too long and the album didn't have enough interesting parts to keep my attention. I must say though that it put me in a bit of a trance at some points...might have to listen to this high and I could see it growing on me.

Lift Your Burdens High For This is Where We Cross

Artuma
Rating: 4.18/5 Wow so I was hesitant to check this after listening to the first track off this but I'm so glad I got past it because this is incredible. The way the lead singer sings/screams is heartbreaking. Probably the most emotive vocals ive heard from this genre. A Statue of a Girl and The Sixth Golden Ticket are obvious highlights for me. Great rec
40Black Wing
...Is Doomed

ConcubinaryCode
Rating: 3.90/5 This was really interesting. I've listened to Deathconsciousness a couple of times and I enjoy it to a degree but it's quite dense and I feel like I haven't truly immersed myself in it yet. This, however, is way more immediate that Deathconsciousness. Combination of dark, fuzzy electronics with shoegaze style vocals works really well and makes for some impressive tracks. Even the weirdly out of place gloom-glitch track 'DSA' works in a weird way. Definitely something I'll be returning to. Great rec
