The saddest album I have ever heard in my entire life, as well as one of the most beautiful. A very unforgettable experience.

Lost Ground

I find this album to be a very good embodiment of disillusioned anger and sadness. The world screwed you over and all you do is scream until you die in misery thrown out by the reality you loved.

From a Basement on the Hill

I actually enjoy this album the most out of his works, I really like the picking apart the lyrics on this album because it gives you glimpses into his mind that I find to be very integrally connected to his suicide. He possessed a very intense sensitivity to the emotional states of others with regards to him, and talked about women and how they played a role in his life. You can see his intense desire to be loved unconditionally and the intense pain he felt when those he loved left him.
4Sufjan Stevens
Carrie and Lowell

I really get an intense glimpse into his coping of death which really makes me empathize with his pain. Its truly a very heartfelt album that speaks softly tales of sorrows.
5Nick Drake
Pink Moon

I always found his simplistic style to be very emotive despite his subdued style. It felt as if we was screaming out in pain, while sounding all the while rather closed off. It reminds me of how those with depression are capable of masking the pain in a way that I can never fully understand.
6Interpol
Turn on the Bright Lights

Interpol is interesting in that the delivery, while deadpanned, comes across very emotionally. I highly recommend it as an intro to post punk.
7The Cure
Disintegration

My favorite goth album and in my top five, really I should have put it higher. It has this interesting ability to be drawn out with simplistic instrumentation and ambience and build in its power. A very hauntingly delivered album that will hopefully stay a cult classic for a very long time.
8Carissa's Wierd
Songs About Leaving

A very underrated album that I find to be incredibly haunting.
