Conmaniac
02.02.16 | lol @2 but I actually agree with you on 4...can't seem to get into any other Wilco albums |
theBoneyKing
02.02.16 | Ok for Wilco at least it's their best album you like but they have several that come close.
However for Spoon while TWMS is an excellent record they have much better imo, and I would say "pure indie pop goodness" applies to Girls Can Tell, Kill the Moonlight, and Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga as well (all of which are better albums).
But, you know, opinions and stuff. |

02.02.16 | check out year zero. its not that angry. the fragile really isnt either, but somewhat damaged is the opener, so...
the downward spiral is an absolute masterpiece. i get that it can be a bit too distorted at first listen, but give it a copule of tries...you wont regret it |
DoofusWainwright
02.02.16 | 1 - all her albums are hit and miss
2 - consider all their albums average
3 - prefer ga ga ga
4 - if you like that one surprised you don't like some of Ghost is Born
5 - odd as this album is like a retread of their previous work |
claygurnz
02.02.16 | 2-Check out their debut, everything else by them is kinda hit and miss. |
Artuma
02.02.16 | so... for most of these you only like this one album because you haven't given most of their other discog a chance |
hal1ax
02.02.16 | drudkh - blood in our wells
asobi seksu - citrus
at the gates - the red in the sky is ours |
ArsMoriendi
02.02.16 | I wouldn't say that Year Zero is all that angry, maybe give it try. |
BlacKapes
02.02.16 | so... for most of these you only like this one album because you haven't given most of their other discog a chance [2] |

02.02.16 | you should listen through buckethead's discog, see you next month |

02.02.16 | "check out year zero. its not that angry. the fragile really isnt either, but somewhat damaged is the opener, so..."
The Wretched, No, You Don't, Where Is Everybody?, Please, and The Big Come Down are all angry as fuck. |
onionbubs
02.02.16 | i guess, but they arent particularly distorted, so theyre fairly more accessible than say, all of broken. and the wretched isnt all that angry to me.
plus, the fragile has 23 tracks. hell find some stuff he likes there. |
DoofusWainwright
02.02.16 | Pretty Hate Machine is barely angrier than Depeche Mode - it's hardly like flicking Henry Rollins' balls |
MyNameIsPencil
02.02.16 | Red Hot Chili Peppers. Only care about Blood Sugar Sex Magik at this point
|
Sinternet
02.02.16 | 1. Not a big fan of Marry Me but Actor and Strange Mercy are pretty dope.
2. Debut is pretty fun and second album is ok but they went stale, wasn't a fan of AM either
3. Definitely try Kill the Moonlight and Gimme Fiction, my faves of theirs
4. Give Being There a go, and possibly Ghost Is Born. Star Wars was defiunitely rather boring but hey it was free.
5. Only ever liked Downward Spiral but haven't bothered listening much, not my thing. |
theNateman
02.02.16 | "so... for most of these you only like this one album because you haven't given most of their other discog a chance"
Well sort of. I've listened to all of nine inch nails and st Vincent and these two are the only ones I return to from each of them. And with the other three, I've tried other albums from them, and none of them grabbed me so I saw no point in continuing if everything else didn't grab me
I used to be a huge pretty hate machine and downward spiral fan back In the day, but I can't listen to them anymore because they're associated with bad memories, and not something I'd care to retread often. |
Avagantamos
02.02.16 | decapiteted - winds of creaion
massive attack - mezzanine
thrice - the illusion of safety |
Satellite
02.02.16 | did you only listen to those 2 other wilco albums? the whole love is superb.
and actor is def st. vincent's best. |
Satellite
02.02.16 | oh and spoon has one of the most consistent discogs ever so i don't get that either. |
theNateman
02.02.16 | I was planning on giving spoon another listen, and I'll try actor again. I hope to render most of this list moot at some point actually |
Spec
02.03.16 | You chose the best Wilco album but you gotta jam some more, the whole love is awesome (like satty said), sky blue sky is awesome (even though some would disagree) and summerteeth is a grower. |
Spec
02.03.16 | Oh and a ghost is born is pretty entertaining all the way through. |
ChoccyPhilly
02.03.16 | Mike Oldfield. Need I say which? |
MistaCrave
02.03.16 | Gospel amirite |
LoLifant
02.03.16 | Chiodos Illuminaudio is a perfect example of such an album imo |
claygurnz
02.03.16 | 6- You not a fan of The Colour and the Shape? |
theNateman
02.03.16 | @clay, not really, no. Both Monkey wrench and Everlong are perfect rock songs, but the rest of the album never clicked. |
Yotimi
02.03.16 | You were told wrong on 3. Their other stuff isn't much different. |
theNateman
05.17.16 | List is rendered kinda pointless as of today, I Absolutely love all of St. Vincent's work now(she's now one of my favorite artists), Spoon's other stuff is great, and I really enjoy summerteeth from wilco now. Plus year zero and the colour and the shape are pretty great records.
I'm always so slow on the uptake it's annoying. |
onionbubs
05.17.16 | lol 5
far, though ive only heard two albums. and one of them was really boring...and the other was water and solutions lol |
Shemson
05.17.16 | You never heard the first two Arctic Monkeys' albums? They're great man, different to AM with a much quicker tempo but great songwriting. |
