I made an album!
9 instrumental songs (and an interlude) with a focus on creating ambience and atmosphere.
This is my first major release and I wrote/arranged/recorded/mixed/mastered this all myself.
Would appreciate some feedback from the Sput community!

List is influences in no particular order. |
1 | | The War on Drugs Lost in the Dream
Favourite album of 2014. Everything from Under the Pressure to In Reverse is perfect.
Favourite song: Eyes to the Wind |
2 | | Coldplay X & Y
Have always been a fan of Coldplay's older work for their use of ambience.
Favourite song: Square One |
3 | | Birds Of Tokyo March Fires
Fellow Australians - I dig the atmospheric qualities and subdued instrumentation on some of the tracks here.
Favourite song: The Others |
4 | | Tycho Awake
Scott Hansen can do no wrong. I appreciate the progression to more guitar-driven tracks on this album, this was a big influence on my work/writing.
Favourite song: L |
5 | | Jon Hopkins Immunity
Mr. Hopkins is an actual master of his craft. Was spinning this album a lot when trying my hand at more electronic stuff.
Favourite song: Breathe this Air |
6 | | Cloudkicker Beacons
Ben Sharp's work, particularly this album, was one of my main inspirations for this project. Every song flows into the next and they all have such a distinct ambience and atmosphere.
Favourite song: Push it Way Up! |
7 | | The National Trouble Will Find Me
Not my favourite National album, that title goes to High Violet, but still a cracker nonetheless. B. Devondorf's drum work is always a highlight.
Favourite song: Don't Swallow the Cap |
8 | | Foxing Dealer
Love this album. How this made it onto Fantano's list of Worst Albums of 2015 is beyond me. The latter half of this album, especially the instrumental tracks, helped me a lot with developing my writing.
Favourite song: Night Channels |
9 | | Beach House Teen Dream
Love Beach House's earlier work for their use of organs and synths to create a thick layer of atmosphere.
Favourite song: Take Care |
