Atari's 2015: Overlooked and Underrated

rather than just doing a generic AOTY list, I'm going with my favorite "underrated' albums of 2015. These are all great, but none of them really got the attention they deserved.
1Downfall of Nur
Umbras de Barbagia

My pick for most overlooked release of the year and overall my favorite bm release of 2015.
2In Cauda Venenum
In Cauda Venenum

another great bm release that was sadly overlooked by most of the site
3Red City Radio
Red City Radio

overlooked punk with gruff vocals. a bit more poppy than their previous work, but just as enjoyable
4Sangre de Muerdago
O Camino das Mans Valeiras

I feel like there were several great overlooked neofolk albums in 2015 but this one is especially good
5Nhor
Momenta Quintae Essentiae

first Nhor album I heard. came out pretty recently and didn't get much exposure. really nice piano work on this one
6Stara Rzeka
Zamknely Sie Oczy Ziemi

this should be on more end of the year lists honestly. experimental drone folk whatever you wanna call it, it's great
7Ulvesang
Ulvesang

another excellent but overlooked neofolk album
8Windfaerer
Tenebrosum

other than downfall of nur, this is the 2nd best overlooked bm release of 2015 imo. fans of Panopticon should definitely check it out!
9Bobby Barnett
Showing Teeth

it might just be an EP, but considering it's the frontman of Captain, We're Sinking, I'm surprised it didn't get hardly any exposure
10You, Me, And Everyone We Know
Dogged

another overlooked EP for fans of Say Anything
11Great Cynics
I Feel Weird

nothing terribly original but a fun listen.
12The Early November
Imbue

I guess it got a fair amount of attention but still deserves to be on more EOTY lists.
13Sorority Noise
Joy, Departed

one of the most overlooked emo/punk releases of 2015. It's great and there's a lot of variety. I recommend the closing track.
14Versus The World
Homesick/Roadsick

underrated band/underrated album
15Havukruunu
Havulinnaan

came out pretty recently but deserves more recognition. props to manosg for reviewing this one. great bm
16Emery
You Were Never Alone

waaay better than their last album so surprised sput seemed to generally ignore this one. nothing groundbreaking but fans of their older work may be pleasantly surprised
17Nest (FIN)
Mietteitä

I think the last time I checked this had like 3 votes. come on people, Finland's nest rules. album is highly minimalistic but worth checking out for any fan of instrumental music
18Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room
Party Adjacent

great follow up to the alkaline trio vocalist's debut
