One Year of (Good) Metal

Whelp, exactly one year ago today, I heard Between the Buried and Me's "Alaska" for the first time. Ever since I heard that opening sweep on the title track, I've been in love with extreme metal. I've musically evolved (or devolved, Sach ;]) a tremendous amount and don't like metalcore nearly as much as I did last year, but I still have a great deal of appreciation for it. Back before I heard BTBAM, I listened to butt metal if you will, such as Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot. Ever since I heard Alaska though, I've had the pleasure of hearing some of the best music that the scene has to offer. First half of the list is some of my pre-2015 jams, and the second half is some stuff that I've been currently digging.
