Late Night Listenings

At midnight I walked around my town/campus alone for no good reason except I may be having a breakdown. Fuck me. List is first soothing music appropriate for nights like this; even if a lot of them aren't "obscure" and are downright obvious picks but whatever
1Weezer
Pinkerton

Probably one of the most brutally honest records ever made. I can relate to "Across the Sea" too god damn much. Being 1,000 miles away from the one person you deep down love is viscous. Butterfly also makes me sorrowful
2The National
Trouble Will Find Me

Finally getting back into these guys after a few month period of meaning to do so but not for whatever reason. Really any album could fit in this spot; but let's discuss Trouble Will Find Me. It's a very fitting album to roll down the windows too while driving on a deserted highway or blasting on your iPod while navigating a deep forest. Arguably their most down to earth lyrically album, TWFM is just a great record all around
3Unwound
Leaves Turn Inside You

"October All Over" has been on loop for me the past week or so. The entire album just screams "Autumn", full of mysterious beauty that's hand in hand with haunting atmosphere.
4Circle Takes the Square
As the Roots Undo

In a near 180 of style, we have Circle Takes the Square; another band that really should need no introduction on this music website. If Skramz and Post-Rock had a beautiful baby CTtS would be it. Chock full of pounding waves of emotional hand and hand with gorgeous instrumental moments, As the Roots Undo still manages to sound very fall-like if not in a different way
5Carissa's Wierd
Ugly But Honest: 1996-1999

This band has driven me to tears once or twice. Consistently solid discography; even if sadder than sadness personified
6BADBADNOTGOOD
BBNG2

Jazzy-instrumental hip-hop for dayz
7Fugazi
End Hits

This one in particular fits the mood for tonight more than anything in Fugazi's discography. I guess it's cause it's thier weirdest to me; and idk about you guys but there's something fitting about oddness and Autumn together
8The Flaming Lips
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

There's something about oddness and Autumn going hand and hand that makes sense to me [2]
9Bon Iver
For Emma, Forever Ago

Fuck I'm depressed. More of a "winter" album but can be equally seasonable too
