| disappointing albums | 1 | | Weezer Pinkerton
praised by many, i can't share the feelings for this band in general. why? the most titles sound like radio friendly pop-rock, and that's it. just nothing special in it. catchiness OK, lyrics...average, music...heard one to many times. not a horrendous effort, but nothing special either, i fear. | 2 | | Silverstein I Am Alive In Everything I Touch
Silverstein had made a couple of bad/average albums before, but "This is how the wind shifts" changed my view of this band, that they were able to make another good album was one too many expectation. | 3 | | Fugazi Repeater | 4 | | Guided by Voices Let's Go Eat The Factory
fuel is out, tank is empty. always quit when it's at the best, before it get's worse. i mean they (he) is still full of ideas but they aren't on par with the older ones, anymore. | 5 | | Manchester Orchestra Mean Everything to Nothing
also a huge let down from what the critics said about this. a few good songs but rest is average to me. | 6 | | The Tallest Man on Earth Shallow Grave
i hate the vocals, i hate the banjo sound, might be catchy but after all it's a bad try to sound like Bob Dylan.
creativity is there but the outfit isn't great. | 7 | | Bon Iver Bon Iver, Bon Iver
might sound good to some, didn't sound good to me. bright soundscapes, bright, soft vocals, nothing really appealing. | |

10.01.15 | I have to disagree on 1 so hard. Did a lot of the songs have at least some radio potential, sort of. But the lyrics are actually brutally personal and a lot of Pinkerton's charm is the fact that Rivers loudly spills his guts for the world to hear, and a lot of what he has to say isn't pleasant, shit it's almost a coherent mess | dtsanchez

he is obviously having his own ideas but it's like he's building his songs in schema's that are "inspired" by Bob Dylan
"Why is 3 here"
because it's (by far) the worst album by a good band. | BMDrummer
10.01.15 | by far is quite a stretch, steady diet and 13 songs sound very similar | ArsMoriendi
10.01.15 | Hmmm OP dislikes 1 for different reasons than I do.
Interesting. | YetAnotherBrick
10.01.15 | 1 is a masterpiece. maybe it'd be radio friendly without all the extra jamming, the extra noise, and the purposely dense production... also, in regards to 6, have you heard The Wild Hunt? | dtsanchez

i should have written in the title that it's a subjective view. i me myself cant understand why it would be a "masterpiece" in any possible way.
there are many catchy albums that have better lyrics and music..
maybe it's just that i don't like Weezer..
"also, in regards to 6, have you heard The Wild Hunt?"
yes, i have. it's not as bad as "Shallow Grave" and that is why it isn't there. doesn't mean it is good either ;) | dtsanchez

10.01.15 | dearest merideth,
no news from the front today, we continue to march ceaselessly towards enemy lines. i fear every day for my safety, and that i should return home to your warm bosom and the glowing face of our first born. also, the new deafheaven leaked.

10.01.15 | imo most ppl here write in fanciless acronyms tbh | BeyondCosby
10.01.15 | I agree with #2. I may just have to give it another listen but I felt like it was just another Silverstein album. I always expect them to write new songs and I'm greeted with reused vocal progressions and predictable riffs. | dtsanchez
