Iron Maiden openers ranked
Yesterday at work i had the brilliantidea of jamming some Iron. And instead of picking an album i said well im original so i'll jam every studio album opener one by one. Of course i knew them all before, but that inspired to make this list, which i know is polemic. That being said, i believe Maiden doesnt have awesome openers, this meaning that they reserve the standout songs for further into the albums |
15 | | Iron Maiden No Prayer for the Dying
Tailgunner - lol |
14 | | Iron Maiden Dance of Death
Wildest Dreams - zzz |
13 | | Iron Maiden Fear of the Dark
Be Quick or Be Dead - weak if you ask me |
12 | | Iron Maiden The Final Frontier
Satellite 15... The Final Frontier |
11 | | Iron Maiden A Matter of Life and Death
Different World - good song, but there are certainly better on this one which is the best album with bruce since 7th son |
10 | | Iron Maiden Brave New World
The Wicker Man - one of the best songs on an unremarkable "comeback" album with Bruce |
9 | | Iron Maiden Killers
The Ides of March - Wratchild - not the best on an amazing album as Killers is, but great nevertheless, basswork is pretty outstanding |
8 | | Iron Maiden Virtual XI
Futureal - underrated as fuck album, futureal is a straight metal song with great punch, very good opener if somewhat short |
7 | | Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Moonchild - opens nicely the last truly great album maiden did with bruce on vocals |
6 | | Iron Maiden Iron Maiden
Prowler- NWOBHM paul di anno ruled |
5 | | Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast
Invaders - well this song is interesting, even if the chorus might seem a little awkward i frankly love this track - even if its just a hint of what this classic album is about |
4 | | Iron Maiden Piece of Mind
Where Eagles Dare - overlooked and dare i say underrated album and where eagles dare is just one hell of an opener and makes with Revelations a killing duo |
3 | | Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time
Caught Somewhere In Time - goes so hard, really not much to add to what has already been said |
2 | | Iron Maiden The X Factor
Sign of the Cross - imo, the best maiden songs are their epics, and sign of the cross is honestly one of their most ambicious epics and an awesome song on its own. plus being an underrated as fuck song/album/singer/, it truly deserves the second place |
1 | | Iron Maiden Powerslave
Aces High - is there a better way of starting an album?? |
