08.26.15 | 8 is debatable, but I love it. |
theNateman
08.26.15 | Dr. Dre, the chronic, i think. And the Beastie boys first three albums. |
Hawks
08.26.15 | Def needs The Infamous. |
deadcrown
08.26.15 | 8 is great but has filler. 4 is the best one on here |
climactic
08.26.15 | 1,5>>>4 doe |
deadcrown
08.26.15 | i like 5 better than 1 but both are great |

Outkast - ATLiens
And maybe a screw tape or something |
Keyblade
08.26.15 | ^^
never understood why people here dont fuck with southern hip hop |
PappyMason
08.26.15 | Got to have Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...
That album is killer. |
CrackeTheSkull
08.26.15 | I'm going to check out Raekwon soon, haven't heard him yet. |
puntugruhm
08.26.15 | needs big l, ugk, lord finesse, and gucci.
5 is the only album that's close to belonging here |
TheSonomaDude
08.26.15 | Yah list needs some Raekwon and MF Doom. Also 5 is amazing |
DikkoZinner
08.26.15 | Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full
Eric B & Rakim - Follow The Leader |

Keyblade
08.26.15 | a bit odd that u consider 1 to be the goat but not heard raekwon :/ |
ParanoidAndroid96
08.26.15 | Dr. Dre and Madvillian. pretty good list so far, but I would take off 3, 6, 7, 8 |
CrackeTheSkull
08.26.15 | List is not in order. I think 4 is the best. I'll make a ranked list once I have a more complete list. |
Keyblade
08.26.15 | "I think 4 is the best"
my man |
CrackeTheSkull
08.26.15 | I've never listened any piece of rap/hip-hop that even comes remotely close to touching that album. Too perfect. RE-PRE-SENT RE-PRE-SENT |
dbizzles
08.26.15 | Everyone tells me to listen to Reasonable Doubt and get mad when I tell them I don't dig the R&B sections. |
grish
08.26.15 | mobb deep
big l [2]
|
ParanoidAndroid96
08.26.15 | Reasonable Doubt isn't THAT good imo. there's so much better rap in that same exact sound |
PappyMason
08.26.15 | Reasonable Doubt is executed so well. What would you say is better in that exact sound? Because the production on that is insane! |
ParanoidAndroid96
08.26.15 | Nas, Biggie, Tribe, Black Moon, Bahamadia. Their production doesn't sound as polished, but it's still that 90s New York jazz shit. I think Jay's lyricism is just alright on that album also |
NeroCorleone80
08.26.15 | How were Public Enemy not the first one that came to mind |
PappyMason
08.26.15 | Yeah, but Reasonable Doubt is mafioso rap. So that leaves Enta da Stage (which is awesome), It Was Written, and Biggie.
It was Written is solid, but the beat selection on that is flawed. Ready to Die is the shit, but Life After Death is pretty inconsistent. Reasonable Doubt is consistently awesome.
No one can match that polished production on Reasonable Doubt tbh. |
PappyMason
08.26.15 | "How were Public Enemy not the first one that came to mind"
Yessir. |
ParanoidAndroid96
08.26.15 | yeah I just don't really dig that "polished" sound as much as you. I like it rugged and RAW |
PappyMason
08.26.15 | I like both. But I have to give props where props are due because, like I said, it's executed so well. His best album. |
ParanoidAndroid96
08.26.15 | fair enough. it is the best stuff I've heard from him |
PappyMason
08.26.15 | I like all the references to gangster films in Reasonable Doubt too! I love that shit. It just sounds massive. |
CrackeTheSkull
08.27.15 | I'm going to pull all of these recs into a bigger list. Any last minute additions? |
DikkoZinner
08.28.15 | EPMD |
JohnWick
08.28.15 | As someone already mentioned, 6-9 don't really deserve a spot here. I think Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..., The Infamous, Breaking Atoms, and Doggystyle are worthy candidates to replace 6-9. |
Keyblade
08.28.15 | Gang Starr - Moment of Truth
Big L - Lifestylez
UGK - Ridin' Dirty
Lord Finesse - The Awakening
along with 1,2 and 4 would be my favs |
SharkTooth
08.28.15 | Straight Outta Compton along with everything mentioned here |
BeyondCosby
08.28.15 | Uh.... Doggystyle
Del the Funkee Homosapien- Both Sides of the Brain
Deltron 3030- S/t
|
NeroCorleone80
08.28.15 | The Roots |
