Summer music pickups

I recently moved out of the country (as in rural area) and into an area with a sizeable music store and I've managed to pick up a lot of good stuff for cheap this summer, kinda using Sputnik as a loose guide. Just putting a list together for fun.
1Jimmy Eat World
Clarity

Bought this having never heard anything from them except Sweetness, The Middle, and the Bleed American title track. One of the best albums I discovered this summer.
2Jimmy Eat World
Bleed American

Great record. Never realized how much FOB took from these guys till I gave this a full listen.
3Titus Andronicus
The Monitor

Picked this up tonight. Knew it was meant to be good and it sounds like dad punk and that's my shit, so, like, cool.

It's All Crazy! It's All False!

I've had CFUTF for a while and it's become one of my all time favorite records. So I thought I'd grab this to help complete the collection. Honestly will probably like it better than Pale Horses, so...

Brother, Sister

Rules, but not quite on the level of CFUTF in my opinion. Best songs from this record are the ones that sound like they could be on the last one - punchy basslines and lots of yelling.

Document #5

Another pickup from tonight. Sounds heavy, so I'm satisfied.
7Converge
All We Love We Leave Behind

Love the diversity these guys manage to display in a record. Love that the production is so raw. Love that it's heavy as fuck.
8Converge
Jane Doe

Concubine is one of my favorite heavy openers I've heard in a while.
9Isis
Panopticon

I've been listening to this record nonstop. Production is perfect for the sound, and it never loses my attention throughout the entire thing. Nearly flawless album.
10Interpol
Turn on the Bright Lights

Listened to this because Patrick Kindlon described The National as "Interpol without the interesting parts" on Self Defense Family's Tumblr and I fucking love the National. This doesn't sound like the National at all to me but it does sound like good newer post-punk and makes me realizes The Killers are just a top 40 pop version of this band.
11Modest Mouse
The Moon & Antarctica

Had never listened to this band at all, wasn't sure what to expect exactly, and this record is somehow exactly what I expected and completely surprising. I don't feel like many of the songs hold up on their own but as a whole the album sure is an experience.
12A Lot Like Birds
No Place

Grabbed this at Warped (oops) for $5. Only listened once, the production sounded annoying but I remember it being weirder than I thought. Can't complain.
13The Fall of Troy
Doppelganger

The clean vocals are annoying but the instrumentation is goddamn wild. One of the most tastefully technical records I've heard.
14Hum
You'd Prefer an Astronaut

I was in Repo Records in Philly and a song came on that really piqued my interest, so I had to ask what it was. Turns out, it was Little Dipper. Picked this record up the second I found it and it was a great purchase though the second half kinda drags on.
15Deftones
Adrenaline

Found this at Goodwill for $2, couldn't pass it up.
16Deftones
Around the Fur

Still don't like this as much as their newer stuff but there are some great tracks, Lotion being one that always sticks out in my mind.
17Jack's Mannequin
Everything in Transit

My ex's favorite song is Dark Blue and she's in love with Andrew McMahon. Best thing that came out of that relationship was discovering this album.
18Counting Crows
August And Everything After

I knew A) this was supposed to be good and B) BTBAM were named after this record. Not that I really care about the latter, but it was a point of interest. So I listened to the first 40 seconds of Round Here and went out and snagged the $2 copy at Goodwill. Probably my favorite discovery of the summer. Anna Begins is one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life.
19Blink-182
Enema of the State

Haven't actually listened to this yet, but another $2 purchase. I feel like it'd be hard to go wrong.
20Saves the Day
Stay What You Are

One of the more disappointing purchases. Not a bad album; maybe I just need to let it sink in more. Just kind of boring.
21Every Time I Die
Hot Damn!

$3 find at a pawn shop in the town where I go to school. Saw them this past weekend. Always rules.
22Magrudergrind
Magrudergrind

Came across a song by these guys on Tumblr so I played it. Was right up my alley as I've been getting into grind recently and I love especially blast-beat filled stuff. Killer album.
23The Red Chord
Fused Together in Revolving Doors

Holy shit. Until I listened to this record, my favorite deathcore release was The Ills of Modern Man because it sounds like bargain bin Dying Fetus. But this shit is way, way, WAY better. If I ever die in a car crash it's likely because I knocked myself the fuck out headbanging to this.
