| Ranking the Avenged Sevenfold albums
Some say Avenged Sevenfold is not "true metal", whatever that is, and that all the early metal bands are so much better and no one should listen to anything else. City of Evil
This album is a masterpiece. Crazy solos, fast drumming, catchy hooks, and just overall consistency.
Highlights: "Beast and the Harlot", "Blinded In Chains", "Bat Country", "Seize the Day", "Sidewinder", "Strength of the World"

Nightmare
Mike Portnoy did an excellent job filling in for the Rev. This album is a close second to City of Evil.

Hail to the King
They said they were going classic metal and they did. Props and respect, plus love for this great album.

Avenged Sevenfold
Their self-titled album is a little more experimental, and while there isn't really a bad track, there's not really an amazing one either.

Waking the Fallen
I'll be honest, I hate metalcore (any genre with unintelligible growls, really) with a passion. The only song I like here is "Unholy Confessions", and I just try to ignore the screaming. I also think it's worth mentioning that when I listened to WTF and STST, I didn't realize the songs changed, they all literally sounded the same to me.
