My Top 5 80s Hits

I've been on an 80s kick lately. So here are my top 5 80s hits that i think deserved all the attention. List is in no order.
1Christopher Cross
Christopher Cross

''Sailing''
A beautiful heartfelt ballad, that is one of the most emotional songs i've ever heard. Christopher Cross's vocals are top notch and the atmosphere on this song is incredible.
2Simply Red
Picture Book

''Holding Back The Years''
One of my favorite vocal performances by the underrated Mick Hucknall, the arrangements, musicianship and production are all superb. Lyrics are very relatable and brings out that soul feel.
3The Smiths
Meat Is Murder

''How Soon Is Now''
The Smiths have other hits like The Boy With The Thorn In His Side, What Difference Does It Make, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, etc. How Soon Is Now is a dark atmospheric that shows great energy and raw passion. The composition in this song is utterly fantastic. I'am human and i need to be love gives me the feels hard.
4The Human League
Crash

''Human''
Human is one of the darkest songs i ever listened too. The 80s were mainly focused on just complete cheesiness. Human carries a different effect that is focused on the past troubles and mistakes that are hard to forget.
5Crowded House
Crowded House

''Don't Dream It's Over''
Every band has it's staple song, but there's something about Don't Dream It's Over.. it's so catchy, soulful and nostalgic. Growing up with 80s music was quite the double edged sword. Some great, some bad... Don't Dream It's Over will never get old and got me more into 80s music, especially the darker side of it.
