| The 5's To Be?
I have a few albums that I think can possibly be 5's one day. Either that or they are really high 4.5s What are your almost 5's and such? | | 1 |  | Icarus the Owl

I don't review, like at all, on this site and 2 of 3 have been very fanboy and I have no doubt that this one will be in the same vein when I get to it. But I promise, I will have this at a 5 one day and I will write a (hopefully) justifiable review for it. This is everything I want from music and it's delivered almost flawlessly.
Individually, I could say that every song on this album, minus the interlude, is perfect or very damn close to perfect. Maybe the only reason this isn't a 5 is because I'm waiting for their next release to be even better. | | 2 |  | There Will Be Fireworks
The Dark, Dark Bright
Just 4.5'd this since I've been listening to it quite excessively and everything clicks really well. This was obviously constructed as an album and not just a random assortment of songs and I think this album displays that better than many others. I find myself lost in this "dark, dark bright" with every listen. An album hasn't conveyed this type of emotion in me since when I discovered TDAG a few years back. After some time, I could see this syncing into me just like that album did. | | 3 |  | AFI
Crash Love
More specifically the deluxe edition. Say what you will, AFI writes some damn good alternative rock. I like this more than both Decemberunderground and Burials which should probably be surprising because this album is the only AFI album without anything remotely harsh. I'm sure a lot of you will say this sucks hard and barely deserves a 3. While understandable, I just don't see it. The last 3 tracks of the main album and "Okay, I Feel Better Now" are some of the best songs I've ever heard and songs like "We've Got The Knife", "100 Words", "Fainting Spells", and "Breathing Towers To Heaven" in the deluxe edition are top-notch as well. Yet still, even when I overlook the duds, I still can't see this as a 5. Yet this is easily my favorite 4.5. | | 4 |  | The Mars Volta

I can't see this as a 5 for a certain reason. On one hand, I'd be lying if I said that I don't think every single song on this album is perfect. Yet on the other, I'd also be lying if I said I don't skip any of the drone or noise or whatever you wanna call it on this album. When I'm listening front to back I will definitely listen to every single second but if my iPod is on shuffle there is a huge chance that anything that isn't in the main song is skipped. I had this at a 5 for the longest time. I don't listen to it as much as I should and I feel bad for it because this is obviously a 5. Maybe it's the fact that I still can't really get into "Head Down" and "Fresh Tendrils" (still good songs). Definitely need to start jamming this again. Along with that B-Sides or whatever it was collection they released last. | |

03.02.15 | wanted to make a list to use the new feature thing. It's funny. 3 of these albums have complete Sputnik acclaim, 1 seemed to get pretty solid attention when it came out, and the other is probably shit to most. So do I get like a B- or C+? | IronGiant
