Some Catchy Metal

Some albums with a great focus on catchy riffs and/or choruses. Would love some recommendations!
1Devin Townsend Project
Addicted

If pop-metal is a thing, this is definitely a landmark. Brilliant songwriting and ideas, epic moments, and tons of fun. A song: Addicted!
2Destiny Potato
Lun

Mix some Devin Townsend, Periphery, Dream Theater, The Mars Volta and pop-hooks, and you'll get one of the best metal debut of this year. A song: Love song
3Diablo Swing Orchestra
Pandora's Pinata

Ok, this one might not be entirely metal, but you can't deny it's fucking fun. These guys gather such eclectic influences and melt them into something original and ironic at the same time. A song: Voodoo Mon Amour
4Dream Theater
Awake

Rush meets Iron Maiden meets Pantera. Dark, heavy, catchy, proggy. What did you expect, porn? A song: Lie
5Porcupine Tree
Deadwing

Probably the band's heaviest album along with Fear of a Blank Planet. But there's still lots of rock here. A song: Shallow
6Queensryche
Operation: Mindcrime

One of the best concept albums, and a fucking pillar of prog metal. Pure awesomeness. A song: Revolution Calling.
7Ayreon
The Human Equation

You really can't go wrong with Arjen Lucassen. This two-disc eclectic-rock/metal-opera is one of the most acessible yet diverse albums you'll ever hear. And it's guests? Mikael Akerfeldt, James LaBrie, Devin Townsend, among others. A song: Day Two - Isolation.
8Beyond the Bridge
The Old Man and the Spirit

Well-done prog metal. No chessy or boring clones. This is how to do thing, guys and gals. A song: Triumph of Irreality.
9Symphony X
The Divine Wings of Tragedy

I'm not keen on thrash/power metal, but this just rocks. Heavy, pretentious, technical and damn fun. In other hand, it might have ended up something cheesy and boring. A song: Of Sins and Shadows
10Haken
The Mountain

These British gentlemen are the future of prog metal. A hurricane of fresh air into a dreadful scene. A song: In Memoriam
11The Devin Townsend Band
Accelerated Evolution

Along with Addicted, Devin's most accessible, groovy and catchy album. You will headbang and sing along to the fucking lyrics. A song: Depth Charge
