| 5 Xtreme Pieces Of Music For Your Pleasure
In which some of my favorite XTREME pieces of music are listed for your pleasure :D | 1 | | Swans Cop
Having realized that their debut album, Filth, had actually semi-normal drum beats,
Michael Gira pushed his "hit things till your ears bleed" formula to its breaking point.
Cop is a furious and barely listenable 40 minutes of mind numbing madness | 2 | | White Suns Totem
Probably the newest album on this list, Totem is a blistering album of absolute
insanity. The guitar riffs are feed back and distorted to level that almost sound like
glitch music, but the pounding drums and screeched vocals give it a definite punk
vibe. Check this one out, it will not disappoint | 3 | | Autechre Exai
Ever wanted to hear your PC get it on with various electrical powered objects
around your house? Look no further, Autechre has the album for you!!! Bleepy and
bloopy to a fault, this bad boy of glitch and electronica goes for two hours and is
sure to test even the most arrogant hipsters patience. Check this baby out if
you're want some crazy and abstract IDM | 4 | | Merzbow Pulse Demon
Let me tell you now, this stuff is not for the faint of heart. No melodies, chords,
rhythms, just TV static cranked to maximum, ear bleeding insanity. Music to be
appreciated from a distant, not necessarily enjoyed | 5 | | Igor Stravinsky Le Sacre du printemps
Probably the first truly EXTREME piece of music, Rite of Spring still sounds head scratchingly insane to this day. the crazy off
rhythms, multiple key signatures, and jarring transitions actually sparked a riot when it debuted in Paris (a feat that is still
pretty admirable by a punk standard). Definitely takes a few listens, but is a very rewarding in the end. | |
