07.11.14 | Beats, duhhhhh. Nah, those are an overpriced pile of crap. You can get some really good Bose ones from eBay for like 70 quid and the sound quality is top notch |

07.11.14 | Grado SR80i's are the best for riffs |
Let
07.11.14 | Grado sr80s are great for metal and rock, but are extremely bright, and are fully open headphones (not
at all for outdoor use)
Shure 440s are a decent monitor headphone for a good price, but if you can stretch your budget a
little I'd highly recommend the Shure 840s over them.
The Audio Technica m50s are widely lauded around your price range, and while the have a decently
balanced sound signature (with a slight emphasis on bass), they are severely lacking in comfort and
soundstage (how "speaker-like" the presentation is).
You should definitely browse head fi for a while. There a lot of threads dedicated to recommendations
of budget headphones like these. You can learn a lot there. |

Let
07.11.14 | You can probably demo each of the ones i mentioned at a local guitar center, musician's friend etc. You can also probably find some senns and AKGs there. The 558s are good, and may be within your budget. Bose are overpriced, you wont get much from them with your budget. |

07.12.14 | If you want a cheap pair get the KOSS KSC75's. Literally the best headphones 15 dollars can buy, not sure what that is in pounds? But they honestly put some 100 dollar headphones to shame! |

great headphones, over ear and noise isolating, very portable and come with a carry bag of surprisingly good quality. Pretty big soundstage for closed headphones, great for most kinds of music, I listen to a lot of metal and they're great for that. The cable is also detachable and easily replaced if broken. |

My 1st proper pair were Creative Aurvana Live! They're really good entry level headphones imo. |
