Fantastic Career Ending Songs

Just a list of songs, either chronologically or in terms of recording, that are the last released in a band's career that I feel are brilliant, and furthermore sum up the band's career perfectly. Some aren't quite the last song in their careers but fuck it here goes
1Pink Floyd
The Division Bell

High Hopes. A Rowan list with Floyd at the top, crazy right?!?!? anyway even if you feel this album is weak for Floyd, its hard to deny the power of this beast of a song. The tolling bell leading into Wright's beautiful melody; Gilmour's lyrics which are him at his absolute best; his voice, of course; that fantastic solo; and the final line linking back all the way to See Emily Play. Beautiful track.
2Queen
Innuendo

The Show Must Go On. Yeah so they technically had an album after this one but fuck it, this IS Queen's last song, their career statement, and one of the finest songs they ever penned. Mercury's vocal performance even towards the end of his life is nothing short of breathtaking.
3The Beatles
Abbey Road

Let it Be/The End. I'm including both of these because The End was recorded last but Let It Be was released after, and both can be taken to end the Beatles' career perfectly (ignoring Her Majesty, that is). Let It Be is, in my opinion, the finest song they ever wrote, and one of McCartney's most emotional and heart-wrenching performances; whereas the End just has that magnificent closing line.
4Thursday
No Devolucion

Stay True. Quite possibly the best song of their career, and even though you can hear that they've come so far since they first started out, its still easy to trace their development both musically and as a group. Plus the emotions packed into Rickly's voice here are nothing short of astounding.
5Jeff Buckley
Sketches for my Sweetheart the Drunk

Satisfied Mind. A tragically short career and one which ended in probably nearly hundreds of un-released songs as well as a massive waste of talent; yet, as the final song on his posthumous release, I'm counting this cover as the official end of Buckley's career. And boy, what a tune to go out on.
6 Underoath
Anthology: 1999-2013

Unsound. This and Sunburnt are a killer final two songs to end a killer career, nothing more to say.
7Thrice
Major/Minor

Disarmed. My favourite Thrice song of all time, with one of their most emotional lines. "Now that you have been disarmed/We can cross over UNHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARMED!!!!"
8The Sound of Animals Fighting
The Ocean and the Sun

On the Occasion of Wet Snow. A strange and not infrequently bewildering band end a roller-coaster ride of three albums with this surprisingly beautiful track.
9Copeland
You Are My Sunshine

Not So Tough Found Out. Yeah so they're back now and I'm damn glad about it but for the years they were broken up, this was one absolute killer of a career-ending track, deceivingly simple for its runtime and strangely hypnotic.
10Glassjaw
Coloring Book

Daytona White. I know they're not officially broken up, but to be honest I see little hope for a new album ever emerging at this point; regardless, this is a fucking cool tune.
11Mr. Bungle
California

Goodbye Sober Day. There is no more perfect summation of the strangest career of all than this hellish beauty.
12Team Sleep
Team Sleep

11/11. Okay so not much of a career from these guys, unfortunately, but out of one killer album and some great demos comes this gorgeous track. With both Crow's delicate vocals and Chino's distinctive croon, in just three minutes this track packs one hell of a punch.
13The Police
Synchronicity

Tea in the Sahara. My favourite Police song, bordering on disturbing and supremely unsettling but also beautifully restrained and expertly crafted.
14Bomb the Music Industry!
Vacation

Don't Destroy Yourself. I think this is technically their last song (Kman or dimsim correct me if I'm wrong) but this is a hell of an emotional ride which takes us to all of Jeff's highs and lows over his career and ultimately leaves us with a bittersweet statement: "Take my faults, and say 'ok then'".
15Far
At Night We Live

The Ghost That Kept on Haunting. "Anytime I want you, I can see you again/I can see you again, my dear departed friend." Just a killer.
16so yeah
that's it
