Great Artists With No Great Albums

Really close to not making it.

Yeah they basically created heavy metal music but their albums on the whole are
not great. (they do have great songs)

Border greatness but their sound, it feels incomplete.

Some great ideas here and there. They do have some great EPs but no great albums.

Jane Doe

This band has an incredible knack for making some ugly music. They do have two
albums bordering on greatness: Jane Doe and You Fail Me.
6Alice in Chains
Dirt

Lanye had a great voice and they have good songs but I would never consider any
of their albums great.
7The Residents
Meet The Residents

Fairly ground-breaking band but no great albums under their belt
8Neurosis
Times of Grace

A lot of good ideas but they are never truly realized.
9The Dillinger Escape Plan
Calculating Infinity

These guys are terrible at structuring songs. They should have stuck to the formula
on Calculating Infinity.
10The Mothers of Invention
Absolutely Free

Interesting ideas and a few good songs scattered throughout their discography but
never a great album.
