| My Top 15 Albums From The 80's
These are my 15 favorite albums from the 80's, this list is very hard to make, since the 80's are rrrrby far one of my favorite decades ever. List is in no order. | 1 | | Peter Gabriel Melt
One of the most artistic albums i ever heard, I'm going to get a lot of hate for saying this, I enjoy his solo material work more
than, when he was in Genesis, I still love Genesis, though. Melt is such an fantastic record, the writing, the overall atmosphere
puts you in, it's a classic, in my eyes. | 2 | | Operation Ivy Energy
Ska Punk, was just getting started, Operation Ivy, made only one album.. however it's an album i will never forget about, just
filled with incredible musicianship, catchy ass tunes, brilliant writing and 27 tracks of awesomeness. | 3 | | Tears For Fears The Hurting
Tears For Fears are one of the most successful/nostalgic bands of the 80's, with their hits like Head Over Heels, Shout, The
Seeds of Love, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, etc. The Hurting is there darkest record and there most well put together,
Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, really showcase, there talent on this record. | 4 | | Kate Bush Hounds of Love
Atmosphere is one of those things, that draws me to music, Hounds of Love is a dark, twisted, mysterious album, that is so
beautiful and peace driven. It gives me chills every time i listen to it. Her voice is so magical, just beautiful strings and
complexity that Hounds of Love, portrays so perfectly. | 5 | | Metallica Ride the Lightning
The ultimate Metallica album, Ride the Lighting is a fast furious ride, with some of the greatest musicianship, known to man..
The incredible leads and rhythms, the solid drumming and the in your face, bass slapping, just an fantastic album, for any music
fan. | 6 | | Rites of Spring Rites of Spring
By far, one of my top hardcore albums ever. Rites of Spring were short lived, they made an album that is emotional, hard
hitting and dynamic. It influenced so many hardcore albums, this album will always be superior. | 7 | | Bruce Springsteen Nebraska
Nebraska is not my favorite Bruce Springsteen record, that goes too Born To Run. However, Nebraska is one of the most
beautifully, dark written albums, i ever heard. The overall atmosphere and emotion of Nebraska is unreal, definitely one of his
best. | 8 | | Prince Purple Rain
Prince is an artist for so many reasons, his talent, writing, charisma and character, etc. Purple Rain was something special to
me, even though it's a soundtrack, it still contains such memorable-nostalgic pop songs like When Doves Cry, Purple Rain, I
Would Die 4 U and Let's Go Crazy, with my favorite being The Beautiful Ones, Purple Rain is legendary and unforgettable, it will
always be one of the greatest albums i ever heard. | 9 | | Madonna True Blue
As being a big star in the 80's.. Madonna brought on a legacy, however True Blue hits me the most, It contains such a catchy
melodic pop songs with such feel good vibes. Madonna's vocals on here are fantastic. True Blue is an unbelievable album, not
just in pop, but in any genre. | 10 | | Embrace Embrace
Embrace, only lasting a year. There only album is a pure assessment of what Hardcore should sound like. It's heavy, emotional,
well written and fun. Embrace, made us proud, by releasing such a fantastic record. | 11 | | Kreator Extreme Aggression
Kreator is trash, they are fast, heavy, agressive and just a flawless band to begin with, Extreme Aggression is an album, that
always speaks to me, just velocity and anger yeaaa. | 12 | | Depeche Mode Black Celebration
Black Celebration is an album that is so flawlessly created. The atmosphere, the incredible musicianship and it's so dark and
melodic. Depeche Mode is such an respected band for many reasons. Black Celebration provides just flawless characteristics
and it's an album that was fond to be created. | 13 | | Michael Jackson Thriller
One of my most nostalgic albums ever, songs like Human Nature, Thriller, Billie Jean, The Lady In My Life, etc. It's such a
timeless and marvelous album, this album proves that MJ is the king of pop. | 14 | | Dead Kennedys Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
Dead Kennedys started the 80's with an unique energy and sound, they can only portary for the fast angry-political lyrics,
anarchy was never going to end, that's what Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables did, it completed us in the most beautiful way.
A
classic nonetheless. | 15 | | Cocteau Twins Treasure
Shoegaze and dream pop are amazing genres in my opinion and one of the main reasons is the classic ''Treasure'' this album
just brings me to tears, cause of the incredible melodies, gorgeous instrumentation, emotional depth and solid production, the
characteristics that they have, is unbelievable.. Treasure is a true album, that is incredible and unforgettable. | |
