AliW1993 05.05.14	The more I think about it, the more I think Episode III is my least favourite. The plot is brilliant, but the film as a whole is completely over the top, and the acting is abysmal (the first Anakin/Padme apartment scene...).
Judio! 05.05.14	Really? I'd actually say the acting is the finest of all the prequels in episode III. The only one who is really obscenely over the top in that movie is the Emperor. Ep III is the only prequel that actually made me care about the characters, and the story wasn't great but the second half of the movie was brilliant.

neurisis17 05.05.14	I would switch 1 and 2, purely for the fact that no other Star Wars movie could've been made after Episode IV and it would've retained the impact it had (it's a complete story that doesn't require pre- or epilogue). And Hayden Christensen's acting is terrible in II and III, sad to say, since the entire goddamn saga revolves around Anikin. Also heavily agree with your statement on III being underrated (despite inconsistent acting quality).

mandan 12.09.15	I expect VII to be good, since Lucas won't have as much creative control with it as he had with the prequels. I recently rewatched Ep. I, and it's a 7/10 for me (or 3.5/5). I think it has its entertaining moments, and Jar Jar doesn't bother me as much as he does for some people, but it does have weaknesses. Also, Ian McDiarmid's performance in it is fantastic, easily the best acting in the movie imo. But yeah, the plot is weak, Neeson and Portman are one-note (despite the fact that both are talented actors), and the silly concepts of angels being creatures in the SW universe and midi-clorians bring the film down a bit. Plus, the space battle near the end is too short imo.

Tunaboy45 12.09.15	I constantly watch the Mr Plinkett reviews as a reminder of how bad they really are. The only one I could probably watch again is III, even with all of its flaws and that ridiculously self indulgent final fight.
zaruyache 12.09.15	I don't mind Phantom Menace. It's the Hayden Christensen/Natalie Portman acting and awful CGI/green screens that ruin the other two for me, but Phantom doesn't really have those. It's not great by any means, but it's just pretty inoffensive all around.
TalonsOfFire 12.09.15	Ranking is correct, though I probably enjoyed II more than you. The dialogue (mainly romance scenes) are the only real qualms I have with it in terms of personal enjoyment, obviously it has tons of other problems too. Plinkett reviews are indeed amazing and every SW fan should see them. I'm hoping VII will be better than all the prequels, doubt it'll be nearly as good as any of the originals though; most likely will be very well made, consistent action movie with SW stuff in it, like his Trek films.

TalonsOfFire 12.09.15	Ya one of the best qualities of episode 1 is how practical a lot of the effects were, it's not just constant CGI backdrops and pretty much no sets like II and III were.

I may have some nostalgia for II as well, but to me it seems to have aged the worst of those. I guess it's easier to hate the prequels if you didn't grow up watching them at the cinema like I did.

Episode I, despite being considered the worst of the prequels, has the most Star Wars-y visuals of all three. And Ep. III is definitely entertaining though flawed. Nothing can save II though, the phony romance scenes between Padme and Darth Christensen are atrocious.
