A Very Convincing Disguise, + Japan Jams

mhm
1Swans
Filth

An aptly titled foray into the grinding, dark, and downright weird. Slightly more accessible than the album that follows it though, and slightly better.
2Dun
Eros

A stellar '80s French instrumental progressive rock album. Flutes and heavy percussion galore
3Doseone
Hemispheres

One of the guys in cLOUDDEAD, awesome indie hip hop.
4Cloud Nothings
Here And Nowhere Else

A very worthwhile follow-up to Attack On Memory, I may even like it more.
5Gorguts
The Erosion Of Sanity

Their second best IMO after Obscura, absolutely amazing.
6Cynic
Focus

obviously
7Blind Guardian
Nightfall In Middle-Earth

One of the best power metal albums ever, such dense storytelling
8Darkthrone
A Blaze In The Northern Sky

One of the best sounding black metal albums overall
9The Contortionist
Exoplanet

good deathcore? yep
10Sufjan Stevens
The Age Of Adz

Sufjan remains amazingly consistent with his follow-up to his masterpiece, throwing in an electronic element into his sound, and it works out better than I would have expected. He perfected the indie-folk sound on Illinois, and it's nice to hear something slightly different from him. Vesuvius is gorgeous.
11Catch 22
Keasbey Nights

Thomas Kalnoky's band before Streetlight Manifesto, almost as good as Everything Goes Numb
12Tortoise
TNT
13Mercyful Fate
Melissa

absolutely rules
14Drive Like Jehu
Yank Crime
15Minor Threat
Complete Discography

One of the best punk bands ever
16Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath

WHAT IS THIS THAT STANDS BEFORE ME?
17OutKast
Aquemini
